BP in Canada

So a few weeks ago I read a thread about how there was to be a BP ban in Canada... living in Canada I was a bit concerned but didn't worry when I couldn't find ANY news coverage on the matter... well tonight I was at Safeway in the pharmacy section to buy some on-the-spot creme and realized that there was a key-locked safety partition encasing ALL BP products (PanOxyl, Oxy5, Neutrogena On-the-Spot etc etc.) Then I looked for some type of sign or explanation but just saw a sticker reading 'These products have a safety code'. The rumour I read about came to mind... I probably could have somehow snuck my way around the partition (with much difficulty, but it was 10:30 at night so there wasn't anyone around really), but the sticker kind of warded me off... this is starting to freak me out.

Obviously these products are still available, but why are they banned and how can I access them?? I was wondering if anyone had any similar experiences or any info on this development...
