i've used some of neutrogena's moisturizer with AHA and my cheeks turned red as a tomato and stayed that way. The label said the irritation was temporary but it lasted through the day and my skin did not adjust over two weeks. It didn't even matter how little I used or how often. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

However, although my face was red I hardly ever got a pimple.

My face developed a tolerance to AHA after about a month. My face did get sunburnt kind of red, and it did last all day as well. Your skin is probably just the kind that is overly sensitive to it, that's all.

AHAs increase your sun sensitivity for a while, and irritation is common when you first start use. Make sure you're also using a sunscreen, and increase use of the AHA gradually.
