Can my regular doctor give me Accutane or does have to be my dermatologist?

In the US, a prescriber must be registered with IPLEDGE. If your pediatrician went through this registration process then s/he could prescribe for you. But in practice most doctors who registered were dermatologists, and i personally think that you are better off getting treatment from a derm who has a lot of experience with Accutane dosing schedules, side effects, and testing procedures.

In some countries only dermatologists may prescribe it.
