1 box of 30 capsules of 20mg Roaccutance cost me $180.

Pls

*list location,

Need Recommendations on Traditional Medicines......

I have been to Makuang Traditional Medicine to see Sinseh about my Acne conditions..... think the sinseh is actually specialized in birth and urinary problems based on newspaper cuttings of the sinseh at the clinic......

Makuang Medicines are "chemically proccessed" so that patients do not need to spend time brewing. Medicines are packed into sachels and just need to pour into glass and add water and drink, just like 3-in-1 super coffee mix....

Sinseh told me to take 2 sachels each days for 3 months. Each sachel cost $3, which cost $180 per month. Consultation fee is $8.

Been taking for 2 months. Not very helpful. Wondering was it becasue the medicine are "chemically processed" thus not so useful.....

Thinking if I should resee my western doctor at Yishun 8-11 Clinic and retake Accutane 20 mg (30 pills) at $180....

Pls recomend a good sinseh that specialise in skin problems,

* the name of clinic and it's location,

* name of sinseh,

* specialisation of the sinseh,

* cost of consultations,

* type of treatments (medications, needle jian1jiu3, vacuum ba2guan4, massage.... etc)

* cost of medications,

* the type of medicines (whether it is gather herbs and brewed type or "chemically processed" type),

* durations of treatments, end results, effectiveness......ect and other useful info....

Pls help me and some others....

have took accutane and it works but after not taking it for 2 months, my acne come back...........

I have about a bit more than half a bottle of mandelic serum left, anyone wants to buy it from me?

This is what I feel about it after using it for two months.

1) It controls oiliness well.

2) It is ok/good but not fantastic at fading marks.

3) Good for people with mild acne.

It cost me about $80 with shipping to buy it. And I'm willing to let go of it for $20. Anyone interested PM me !

This is what I did recently. I went to a GP and asked him for a prescription of oratane then I went to the NSC to get the medicine. The prescription cost me $28, the oratane cost me $80. So I saved about $50 for one month. Generic accutane is cheaper--i.e nimegen, oratane. Roaccuatne is much more expensive.

Here is the bad part-- the GP might give you attitude, like what mine did. Because if you don't buy the medicine from them, they dont make that much profit. It sucks to see that doctors are just money-grubbers at heart.

Ok sure no problem

1. 20 mg, 28 capsules.

2. I went to Lily Aw clinic at Pasir Ris but was treated by a male doctor, who charged me $28 for the prescription and consultation. NSC's consultation is around 50 to 60. Dr Lily Aw might not have charged me because she does not charge consultation for repeat cases.. but I don't know for sure.

3. Lily Aw Clinic sells nimegen not oratane but it would have cost me $120 to buy 28 20mg pills, excluding consultation.

4. The prescription is a note, the doctor writes the name of the medicine, the dosage and amount. I just bring it to the pharmacy at NSC. The doctor who writes the prescription does the monitoring. You can only buy the amount the doctor prescribed. The male doctor I went to prescribed me only 1 month because he is not familiar with my condition, it is usually Lily Aw who sees me.

Now I have to go back to Lily Aw and ask for another prescription, I'll see how it goes and what she says. She might not agree to give me a prescription. I'll let you know what happens!

sally can ask you if the male doctor and doctor lily aw, are they dermatologists or GP?

last, do any1 know if ask the NUS health clinic refererral to NSC considered as subsidised patients or not????

i'm nus student too! but I don't know about that, i think you have to go ask the nus clinic?

The male doctor is a GP, Lily aw is a GP with a diploma in dermatology I think. If you know any kind family doctor maybe you can ask him for prescription. Some GPs are very relaxed and easygoing. Ya I think if you go thru polyclinic its only 20+ consultation. Maybe you can try getting a referral to Prof Giam. She is very nice and was very willing to give me accutane last time.

My brother had worse acne than mine last time, but when he went to NSC the derm refused to give him accutane also. Now he has scars. So its important that you choose which derm to go to carefully. And if you've taken antibiotics before tell the derm, that will help you get accutane more easily also.

Good luck!

Singaporepimpleboy,

grrrr just listening to your story pisses me off. A lot of fucked up doctors like him around! Usually polyclinic doctors coz they work for government and they don't get paid that much + long hours. Trust me on that.. I stopped going to polyclinics since 5 years ago because of such doctors. They will always say its not too bad, because they're not the ones with the problem.

ok... deep breathing... anger management...

I really think its not a good idea to do what you plan to do.. because it must be taken with supervision of a doctor. They have to take blood tests to determine what kind of effect the isotretinoin is having on your body. Besides, you must take an optimum dosage. 20mg might be too low for you. Have you taken any antibiotics before? If you tell the doctor you have tried antibiotics, your chances of getting prescribed accutane is higher. maybe you can get a job to save money for the consultation and medicine, around $200-250 a month, in 6 months you can be free from this problem for a long time coz accutane is really potent. If you buy online it just ends up being more expensive, dangerous, and too low of a dosage.

your dosage is too low! it depends on body weight. I was 45kg a few years ago, and I took 40mg a day, I was acne-free for 2 years. The norm is 0.5 - 1 mg per kg of body weight.

Today I went to take 3 months worth of oratane from NSC and succeeded. I got the prescription from Dr Lily aw.. she was very surprised that NSC allowed me to do that, but gave me the prescription anyway, and was very nice about it. Didn't charge me for prescription either. Cost me $240 for 84 20-mg pills. I worry that my dosage is too low, but my acne is nowhere as bad as 3 years ago so maybe it is enough.

Good luck getting your medicine!
