Introducing New Products to Your Regimen??

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering how long it will take to dicsover if I will break out or have adverse effects from using a new product? I just started using a new cleanser on thursday night. It's now saturday night. If I was going to react badly to it, should it have happened by now??

I'm switching from:

St. Ives Apricot Radiance Blemish Fighting Cleanser (w/SA)

Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer (w/SA acid)

Almay concealer & powder (BOTH w/SA)

switching to:

Clean & Clear Sensitive Skin Foaming Cleanser

Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion (the big green bottle)

Physicians Formula Mineral Powder (and maybe Everyday Minerals, we'll see)

(still using the Almay concealer for the bad spots, sparingly)

I'm already using the C&C Sens. Skin Foaming Cleanser and am planning to start the Cetaphil lotion on monday if I don't severely break out from the C&C. I ordered Dan's BP but it's not here yet so I using some old Acne Free stuff that's 3.7% BP.

What do you think? Is this a good plan??? help please!

in my past experiences the cleanser is the least likely to break you out anyway so i wouldnt overly worry about it.

and yea that bp should be fine i guess until you get dans stuff!

Maybe you could consider intoriducing a new product each week or two, as then if one breaks you out you will know which one it is :)

Janiet53,

Yes, that's what I am worried about. I'm worried the Cetaphil moisturizer will make me break out.

But I used the C&C cleanser about 5x now and I'm okay still. I want to try the lotion but I am scared.

dont be scared :)

many of the members use it or have done an most of them found it quite nice

but if c&c is working

why switch!

ima believer in "if it works, keep it"

As the Cetaphil moisturiser is one of the products Dan recommends it should be fine as it is oil free and non-condgenmic, so I can't see you would have any problems switching ;)

Approach testing new products logically it's like a scientific test.

Myabe introduce the new product and take pictures on a regular basis for a week it will enable you to make comparisons and see results.

Thanks, All. I'm going to start the Cetaphil tomorrow, I think. That's less than a week but I am anxious. Thanks for the courage.

The C&C cleanser seems to be working.....the C&C moisturizer is so-so. It has SA in it and I think I could find something better. So...Cetaphil time. I have my fingers crossed.
