It is no way likely to be as effective as applying BP, as it only stays on your skin for a few seconds and then is washed off, so it hardly has chance to have much of an effect :)

I've heard of a couple of people having luck with BP washes, but I think they were using high concentrations of it, like 10%. BP wash never did it for me, though, it simply doesn't remain on the skin long enough to be effective. It's also EXTREMELY bleaching since it's easier for soap residue on your face or neck to get on your clothes than a carefully applied gel. When I used to use the Proactiv BP wash, so many of my clothes and towels were destroyed and it took me a long time to realize it was the wash, not the lotion.
