Best makeup foundation

There is a reason why Estee Lauder Double Wear is the #1 selling foundation.  For those who say it looks terrible on, you don't know how to apply make-up and/or you don't have the right color.  For those of you who have had worse acne while using it, you may be allergic to something in the formula, but chances are you are using other products that are causing skin issues.  Sometimes I read people's beauty regimens or see YouTube videos of women with acne doing foundation reviews and before they apply the makeup, they are putting primers or moisturizers on, and then they go on to use sculpting and/or highlighting makeup - good grief.  No wonder they have so many skin issues.

I have been using Double Wear for years.  Every time I have tried to switch, it causes skin issues and does not hold up to oily skin.  I finish it with Mary Kay Mineral powder.

I use glycolic acid and benzoyl peroxide to keep skin clear.  If I need to moisturize, I use plain Jojoba oil - smaller than dime size amount.  Amazing stuff and shrinks pores.  So the skin care regimen that Acne.org suggests, is right on target.

I use a foundation brush and clean it often with unscented Castille soap.  And a lot of the foundation sponges can cause acne.  I wash my face with very cool water and let it dry on its own - never use a towel.  To dry quicker or blot oil from my skin I only use Scott Tissue plain toilet paper and I carry a small amount in my purse. If I use any other tissue to blot or dry skin, I get breakouts.

I wash my hands after every hair care product or body moisturizer I use.  I use perfume ver sparingly and keep it far from my face and spray below waist.  I stay far away from any hairspray - always causes acne.  Two foods that will make my skin break out if I eat too much:  strawberries.  shrimp.  35 years of trial and error and completely agree with Acne.org regimen and suggestions.  Interesting that he has arrived at the same conclusions I have,  after years of experimentation.

The best foundation for oily skin

This is the best foundation for oily skin. I have tried many foundations and this one is my favourite. It covers all my scars and pigmentation but my skin looks natural and it lasts all day. I use it with a primer from benefit and I set it all up with Urban Decay's setting spray.

It’s great, but not great for everyday!

I had been using this, but only once a week. Then I started using it daily. My skin then started having serious breakouts, nasty red big pimples!! I assumed it was either just from something I may had been eating, sweat etc. I continued to use the double wear foundation, fast forward 3 months I have so many acne scars on my face now it’s depressing. The Estée Lauder double wear was the only new change to my products, ultimately since I’ve stopped using the acne appearing has also stopped appearing. So upsetting! I think this product must suffocate the skin or there must be some ingredient that irritates my skin. Either way it’ll be saved for the special occasions... I can’t beliebe a product quarter of the expensive I use doesn’t break me out but a foundation that’s so expensive & high rated, didn’t agree at all with my skin!

Bad, causes breakouts

I have never had breakout issues with any other foundations, I have painful red pimples all over my face like I have never had before. So embarrassing, now to the recovery stage. I would stay clear of this product.

HORRIFIC
THIS IS SO DRYING AND CAKEY, I LOOKED LIKE A MONSTER, but it did manage to stay on all day through sweat and humidity. good if you have oily skin, but horrific for dry skin

To make it more moisturizing and not cake up, I add the ELF Hydration Drops into foundation , VOILA- no more caking up on the skin

Not great for skin BUT amazing coverage!
Does feel thick and pore-clogging and, after a couple of weeks of use it does seem to increase the inflammation of my acne a bit and give me new spots (maybe if you are very strict about absolutely cleansing your face thoroughly at night it might be better, but I just use a gentle face wash and tone - and the cotton pad always has lots of foundation on it after toning).... BUT... it is absolutely a lifesaver for people who are feeling depressed about their acne. It will give you flawless skin and hide those really terrible breakouts, which make you not want to leave the house. It is a lifesaver.

Acne acne and more acne!!!
I'm not sure how people are so in love with this.it gave me the worst acne I have ever had in my life!! With my good diet and exercise I have not had actually in years. Well this December, my sister introduced me to this foundation and I instantly fell in love with it because of the coverage. I remember asking her a few days later if she thinks that the foundation broke me out, because I had a few pimples that popped up. She reassured me that it was probably just my hormones from my period and I brushed it off as something not to worry about. Well, I've been using it since December and my skin looks absolutely horrible. It's almost like some kind of sick joke because this foundation gives you so many pimples, that you actually have to keep using it to cover up how horrible your face looks! Please I do not recommend this product to anybody that is prone to acne. I think the people that have had wonders with it already had such bad acne that they're not really contributing to the problem, but they are. I do not recommend this product once again

Excellent
I have always had acne, got clear on the acne.org regimen, but then started getting very hormonal/ adult type. I tried using nothing but mineral makeup, Laura mercier was highly recommended, but also started having very oily skin. I even stopped the regimen for a while because estheticians thought I was essentially overproducing oil due to bp usage-- big mistake. Overall, I needed a makeup that wouldn't make me break out, would cover, and would Not oxidize. So, tried Estee Lauder double wear nude. Started it this month with their primer as well, the result is great:: A. Lasts all shift (10 hours in ER) B. Doesn't get greasy or oxidize/turn orange C. No new bumps unless I forget my BP I haven't agreed to put a single "wet" makeup on my face in ten years because of breakouts-- but this stuff is Definitely safe in my book With The Primer.
