Week 6

Hi everyone!

Sorry this post is almost 2 weeks late. My sister came to visit me so I’ve been quite busy entertaining her. This past week and a half has been a very VERY challenging time. It’s one of those weeks where you know you fucked up bad. And boy did I fuck it up. Last week, I told you all I will begin wiping my face with a cold towel instead if leaving my skin alone. Within the first 24 hours of the second “wipe” ever, my skin broke out in unprecedented ways. I will show you pics of how bad it got below. As usual, more discussion below, pics at the bottom.

What I’m experiencing: When I first wiped at the time of my last post, my skin was irritated and broke out but it FELT better as in less itchiness and dryness. I put up with the consequences as long as it felt better. I knew I had to continue wiping if I was to really determine whether wiping was helping or not. At the beginning of this week (a couple days after I submitted the last post), I wiped with a cold towel for the second time that week. Within minutes of wiping, my skin was a burning, itching, red, inflamed MESS. It felt so utterly horrible in a way I’d never experienced before. I could feel the heat emanating from my cheeks. It was angry. Because of my skin’s extreme response, there was no ambiguity in my mind whatsoever; wiping was not working and I had to stop as soon as possible. I went back to doing nothing. It took my skin another week to heal and as you can see from my pictures, it is STILL healing.

What I’m doing: Like I said, I wiped with a cold wet towel twice between Aug 25 and Aug 28. After my skin got really pissed, I immediately went back to doing nothing at all.

Other notes: I felt extremely frustrated but I was assured by my boyfriend that setbacks are alright. I needed to experiment to find out what worked and what didn’t. Despite the huge setback, I am pleased that the healing was easy, painless and it feels less itchy this time around. I will continue updating.
