Products on Accutane

Hi guys! I’m sharing the products I used on Accutane and what I found really helped my skin out!

Cleanser- I swear by CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser for normal to dry skin. I was gentle but did it’s job, which is really what you need on Accutane. I purchased a rotating cleanser brush to use a few days a week to really deep clean my skin

Toner- Neutrogena’s Alcohol Free Toner was the best way to deeper cleanse my skin on a daily basis, especially on days where I was wearing heavy foundation or concealer. It doesn’t have alcohol so it doesn’t sting or further dry out already dry skin.

Lotion- Once again, swearing by a CeraVe product. The Moisturizing Cream is Heaven sent. It is so thick and rich, and slathering it on my face morning and night was something I honestly looked forward to.

Lip Care- Dr. Dan’s CortiBalm, a tube of Baby Aquaphor, and cocoa butter Vaseline were my holy grails. I tried to get by on Chapstick, Burt’s Bees, or lipglosses, but nothing worked like those did. On my super dry days, I even slathered Aquaphor on my whole face!

Sunscreen- Another CeraVe product, the Facial Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30, was my go to for days I needed sunscreen! It’s light, not greasy, doesn’t have a sunscreen smell, and blends nicely.

Body Lotion- Don’t use anything else but St. Ives Oatmeal and Shea Butter lotion!

I wear contacts, so carrying solution and drops with me at all times was a must! I never had nose bleeds, but I did have a very dry nose, so I used NeilMed NasoGel every night. My scalp didn’t produce as much oil, so I could go up to 3 or 4 days without washing my hair if I wanted to. I didn’t feel like I needed to change shampoos or conditioners to be more moisturizing. I continued to use my regular body soap as well.

I didn’t use them on Accutane, but I do use them on my zits now, but you could consider trying hydrocolloid patches for zits that are particularly bad. I put them on at night, and by morning, the patch has drawn out the nasty gunk from inside the zit, considerable reducing its size and redness! I wish I had known earlier, so you may want to give it a try!

If I can answer any questions or provide more information on these products to anyone, I’d be happy to be of help!
