Crying now

I'm 27 about to turn 28. I started getting acne while pregnant with my oldest 6 yrs ago. It hasn't gone away and it's just getting worse. I have itchy pimples in my hairline, all over my forehead, my eyebrows, jawline, and I get cystic pimples on my chin quite often. I've tried everything from most drugstore brands, taking antibiotics, clinique, proactive, the oil cleansing method, just water, and well, maybe everything there is to try. I've seen a dermatologist and that did nothing. I guess I should mention I have sensitive skin as well. I can't use fragrances or I'll break out with eczema rashes. Every now and then I will try something with fragrance just praying it will clear up my acne but it never does. I'm at a loss. I'm giving up. I'm going to just go back to using Dove sensitive skin bar and pray that one day my acne will magically go away. I'm over trying new things, spending all kinds of money and time on new things for nothing. OVER IT

So I used the Dove sensitive skin bar and smeared a ton of Cetaphil lotion on my face before bed thinking that maybe the Proactiv was drying my face out even more than the oil cleansing method, which I don't get how can be drying. My face looks a lot better, still itches like crazy though.  Hopefully getting ready for the day and repeating the process will help.

Hugs. I understand your frustrations.

Hada Labo es is a special foaming face wash with extremely mild cleansing agents, no fragrance or artificial dyes and coloring that will irritate your skin. I highly recommend it, as I have the same skin type as you and it helps me quite a bit. Glossier also has a similar jelly cleanser that works well and it has b5 for your skin with rosewater to soothe it. Dove has a very high pH and a heavy consistency [I think there's fatty alcohols in there], it clogged my pores terribly so please don't use any bar soap on your face. It weakens the acid mantle and leaves you vulnerable to worsened acne.

Also, make sure to see an endo or gyno asap and get the following tested to see what's really going on: free testosterone, total testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, iron, ferritin, vitamin D, cortisol/ACTH, DHT, DHEA-S, and b vitamins. You likely have some kind of hormone imbalance. There are plenty of solutions out there besides the pill or synthetic hormones, too, so there is hope...trust me. The right meds and herbal remedies as well as diet changes can work wonders.

If all these other meds have failed you, have you ever considered low dose accutane?
