Day 3

MonroeQT

I'm feeling really good today. I've been doing a manuka face mask every day and it seems to be helping a lot. I woke up to less breakouts today and overall my skin is much calmer since I've cut out all my acne products. I did eat a candy bar today and yesterday because I'm pmsing pretty badly. I really hope that doesn't result in a bad breakout especially because my skin is just now starting to heal but I just couldn't resist lol.

Looks much better! :D
I'm working on cutting out harsh acne fighting products too. Simple and natural seems best for me too. Keep fighting!

I cut out harsh "acne" treatments over six months ago. In my case, my acne is coming from the inside out. My gut is inflamed, ect. I love manuka honey. I want to stay home all day every day and wear my manuka honey face mask because my skin feels better after I do so...I can't though, because I work, lol. And I tried sleeping in it, and it got my pillow case/hair sticky and got lint and dirt stuck to my face so not a good idea.

Positivity coming your way ! xo

My approach definitely doesn't apply to everyone. I have VERY sensitive skin so for me, using harsh products=inflammation, slower healing time and more blemishes. But, you're right, diet is SO important. I don't care what the science says, every time I eat sugar, a few days later I get a breakout. I have to say, I'm in love with manuka honey. I can't believe I only discovered it recently. It seems to really help calm my skin down. I also started reading about its benefits when taken internally, so I'm going to start consuming a tbsp daily. I have IBS as a result from Accutane, and apparently it's an effective treatment for that as well.

You poor girl...you got bad side effects and still get acne. That sucks but at least you're still trying.
i think there is scientific proof of diet affecting skin just most doctors are either ignorant or they just wanna sell products.
There have been studies which prove sugar and dairy= Inflammation and blood sugar spikes affect hormones. I point that out when people say diet has nothing to do with skin.
If you don't have acne then it might not affect your skin, just like if you're not diabetic eating sugary stuff won't harm you.

Exactly! Diet doesn't "cause" acne in "normal" people, but can it cause breakouts in someone who is acne-prone? Absolutely. *Le Sigh* I know, it sucks. I've been on Accutane twice, so I really shouldn't still be breaking out. But, I refuse to go on it a 3rd time. I strongly believe my acne is hormonal, so that's probably why it doesn't work for me(long-term) at least. I mean, I don't regret it, because it gave me clear skin for several years, and my skin was BAD, so that's amazing, but I think it's time to look at other options.  Edited by MonroeQT
