Hello peeps,
So a lot has happened in the past two days. For starters I had a 3 and 1/2 hour drive to my hometown for Spring break while dealing with vertigo. I made it and next day. Also, I went to a devacurl specialist to get a haircut and it was a great experience. While in that town, I ate at this Japanese restaurant called Sushiko and it was superb! I ate sweet potato and avocado rolls with green tea. Now back to business, the first day I came back home I caved in. I ended up washing my face with my benzyl peroxide and applying my nightly topical treatments (tretinoin and clindamycin). If you're wondering why, my face started filling up with tiny little bumps, kind of like heat bumps. I decided to wash my face with my acne treatments at night only and I will vary the days when using them to still try to help my skin heal, while at the same time researching natural cleansers and solutions. Here's what I've come up with:
Eating habits:
-no white rice (replacing it with black, brown, or wild rice)
-no white potatoes (replacing it with sweet potatoes)
-reducing high glycemic fruit intake (to help with blood sugar levels)
-reducing rolled oats intake (I ate some yesterday and it seems to have given me tiny little bumps under chin)
-no bread (replacing it with lettuce)
-no processed foods
Note: I already don't consume dairy or meat, which has tremendously improved my skin.
I will be modifying this list as I learn more about how these foods affect my skin.
Face routine:
-night: wash with benzyl peroxide + apply topical treatments (tretinoin and clindamycin)
-morning: wash with filtered water (use lotion if needed)

Soon I'm planning to give the oil cleansing method another shot. This time I will try pumpkin seed oil because of its linoleic acid level which will not disturb my skin's ph level and it also contains many omega fatty acids, minerals, and antioxidants. Here's a website I found that seems honest about where and how they get their oils. https://www.mountainroseherbs.com/products/pumpkin-seed-oil/profile

Well this is it for now folks, I hope everyone has a safe spring break!

Ps. I will post pictures of my skins condition tomorrow.
