Been breaking out lately and it's hard not to be discouraged. I think it's because of any of the following reasons or maybe a combination of them: a) pimples from my period which I had recently, b) Bio Oil, c) Retin A or d) my skin is just being shitty on it's own. I desperately wish I had my Banish Vitamin C serum to battle them for me! The hyperpigmentation on the right side of my face is clearing up nicely but I try not to feel too happy about it in case I jinx it. Yes, I know that there is no correlation between the two haha

I recently was on a good path for my skin, and the I over-used my tretenoin cream and broke out so bad. I got 2 pimples that seemed to purge, they were small blacheads that suddenly swelled up. They do down quickly but I have to pop them which is very embarassing and swelling takes at least 48 hours to completely go down for me. I am no longer using tretenoin but maybe once a week. My skin is wrecked from this medication. I have switched to an antibiotic to hopefully help my skin because it's too irritated for topical! :(

I've used Retin A for a very long time (about 3 years if I'm not mistaken). I can attest that it will cause your skin to purge (mine I believe is purging because I was off Retin A for like 3 weeks). With all the breakouts I had AND my supply running low, I diverted away from the medication because in the morning when I tried to cleanse my face, it was hard to completely remove that milky residue from my skin while having the daunting task of not breaking my whiteheads.

Thank you for commenting Katie! I didn't reply earlier because I didn't get a notification.
