Last week I developed a pimple on the corner of my mouth, and when it scabbed over holy crap it was absolutely painful to eat or talk!! A few days later it got better, but then another appeared on the other corner! Luckily this one didn't cause nearly as painful an experience. But wow it was the worst!
Last week I had about five or six bumps on my forehead. As of this moment, it's relatively smooth, with probably one or two bumps. Acne on my cheeks and jawline is the same as usual, but acne on my neck has just exploded. Bumps all over. I'd say I only make it worse because it's so itchy, I keep scratching.
I'm wondering if the way I apply my topicals is having any affect on their effectiveness. I apply Tazorac at night - the website says to apply it after my moisturizer, so I normally cleanse, moisturize, and then apply it after an hour. In the morning it's Benzamycin, and that one's difficult to work with. It's really thick and leaves a lot of chunks of the product on my face. I first thought to apply it straight after cleansing, so I could feel like it's being soaked directly into the skin, with no moisturizer to block it. But on the few times I've used a moisturizer, and then waited an hour to apply Taz, I've found it spreads a lot easier, and melts into my skin better.
