Day 10 On The Regimen

(I can't figure out attaching the photos thing, so look at the first two photos in the album, they are from Day 10)

The second week in and last night I saw four new pimples emerging . I guess I should expect a purging phase, but the first week the BP really started working on the left side of my temple. I had stubborn acne there for the last six months and the BP started to kick those to the curb. The good thing is that since I started the regimen, I feel that acne doesn't stick around for very long.

The right side of my face is looking better, but the left side of my cheek is where my new acne is popping up and there was already some bad hyper-pigmentation there and scarring, so it kind of looks like a war zone. I also sometimes get discoloration (white patches) there, but I think that's due to some fungus that I've never been able to get rid of. I have to put some Selenium Sulfide 1% on it for a few days and it usually goes away.

I surfed both morning last weekend and caked on the zinc sunscreen on my face, but still managed to get a lot of sun. I know the sun and sunscreen is bad for my acne, but I will not stop surfing! It's the one thing I really enjoy. I hate being so dark though, but I love the beach and the sun.

Last night, I put on a honey mask to help lighten my skin, not sure if it helped but it feels a little smoother. I started to use two full pumps both day and night yesterday as this is my second week. I might back off a bit if it starts to feel really dry and tight. I continue to use the acne.org moisturizer and jojoba oil. I think the jojoba oil really helps to put the moisture back in my skin, it's less dry now then it was before using the acne.org regimen. I have been alternating using the AHA+ at night too. I know it's a bit early, but I'm working my way into to it and so far so good.

Hey... Good luck with your progress on the regimen. I can attest to the success of using it to clear your skin... As a veteran member, I feel it's appropriate to offer a kind suggestion regarding how to best utilize the regimen. First, when they say ease into using BP, they really mean it. From first hand experience, I can tell you that if you go gun hoe into using BP at full strength, your skin will pay for it. Try to follow the dosage guideline thoroughly and stick to the application schedule and procedure exactly before deviating from the regimen. You'll be grateful that you did. Also, try not to add any additional variables to the regimen while you still have active breakouts. Allow time for the regimen to work it's magic, then incorporate other enhancements, like honey masks, to your skincare routine, after you've been clear for a while. Finally, as with BP, be sure that you are using AHA sparingly while your skin adjusts to BP. Though you may not see any negative effects now, you may experience them down the line. Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of pain. :)

Thanks for the advice @nycqueen! I did go back to following the regimen as per the instructions. I started using more BP as the instructions suggested and now I'm seeing a bit of flakiness and redness. Some new acne has formed this week, blah..but I'm hoping next week will be better.
