Day One On Accutane!

So, this is my first day on Accutane and I'm SUPER excited!

I'm 19 years old and have been suffering from acne for at least ten years now. I started seeking help for my acne when I was 13 years old. I started with my primary care doctor, but because my acne became so severe I was sent to a dermatologist! Since then, I have tried many different treatments from pills to cream to gels to birth control to changing my eating habits, but unfortunately nothing has helped, which is why I decided to start Accutane!

About a year ago, I was set on NOT taking Accutane. I convinced myself to continue the pills I was on and deal with the horrifying skin I always had. I figured if people really loved me for who I am, my skin shouldn't matter. But, being in college did not help that decision whatsoever. Everyday I see these girls with beautiful skin and it just makes me feel embarrassed if anything. On top of that, my skin has become even worse than what it was. I'm sick of waking up with a red, bumpy face everyday! :( For once, I'd like to know what it's like to wake up with clear, smooth, beautiful skin!

And so my journey begins!

My doctor put me on a 5 month course of Myorisan (generic brand)

one 40Mg pill per day to take with food

I am also 5'3 and 110 lbs if that helps at all

Wish me luck and best of luck to those of you who are also starting and/or are continuing this journey!

Hope we can share our experiences!

Hi! We're around the same weight and height, on the same dose, and starting around the same time. Only difference is that I'm almost 10 years older. ;)

Good luck! :D

It's nice to know I'm not going through this alone! I hope we both start seeing results sooner than later!

Thank you so much and good luck to you as well! :D
