I've named today day 0 because tomorrow is my first visit to a hospital derm.
Now the bit that I always find a bore so I'll keep it quick. I've had acne since I was about 15. But not the kind I have now. I used to get pimples and cysts on the forehead only.
I went in various contraceptive pills to get rid of it. About a year ago I went to my GP and she prescribed Yasmine - Yasmin is the reason I have the acne I have today - all over my cheeks, jawline and chin. It did however get rid of any acne on my forehead
In May my gp referred me to a derm but really it was just another gp who has a bit more "knowledge" dealing with skin conditions. She took one look at my face and said oh it's not that bad, a few blackheads and sent me packing with some epiduo and antibiotics. Fast forward 5 months, the epiduo has done an alright job and I'm not a big fan of antibiotics... However my acne is still persistant and I get a lot of deep painful cysts. Their new favourite spot is my cheeks.
So after a struggle I went back to my GP and she referred me to a local hospital derm. My appointment is tomorrow so fingers crossed I can finally get some answers
