So, I feel confident enough to post a pic...before my roaccutane treatment began (check out that STONKER on my foehead!) and after 5 weeks. Happy to say that the results are great !
Still on the same skincare regime and not experiencing any flakiness on my face or dryness - so Body Shop's Vitamin E range is perfect for me. Seeing my derm this week for my first follow up appt, quite excited to hear her advice on my prescription, if she'll bump me up to 60mg a day.
Still no other major side effects apart from the dry lips, hand and arms are still fine and no aches and pains like I've read others experience. But as I mentioned before, this might change if the dosage increases.
Feel so much more confident at the moment as well, it's amazing what having good skin can do for your mojo - have two dates lined up for next week
My job is also in sales, so not worrying if my clients are paying more attention to my bad skin than my presentation is a real relief and I'm so much more relaxed.
It's incredibly annoying that some people are so cursed with acne, and others have amazingly clear perfect skin - but I cannot recommend accutane enough for those of you suffering with the same problem. It's really quite phenomenal. Of course, there is always the chance of relapse when you finish your course, but from what my derm says, it's 1 in 5 people that will do so - so the odds are in our favour people!
Will keep you updated - right now, I don't have any more new spots, just the scars from all the previous outbreaks. These will fade in time, I just have to be patient....
