Oily Skin/acne Scars

I am 34 years old and I have been suffering from acne and oily skin since I was 13. I have never been to a dermatologist, I have just tried about every over the counter facial wash there is. After so many years I have kind of become numb to my acne problem. This past year I decided to try some things that I have read on the internet to see if it would improve my acne. Some of the things that I have tried were to give up dairy, vitamin d supplements, and apple cider vinegar. None of these things worked, and I gave these examples plenty of time and patience. While I was at Walmart shopping about to buy some shampoo I remember reading about Head and Shoulders shampoo, so I thought what the hell I'll give it a try. Within to days the little bumps on my face had completely cleared up, and I'm still thanking God everyday! Nothing that I have used in the past 20 years has ever had this effect on my skin. It is so smooth. I had really oily skin, and when I would get a pimple it would leaver a black mark when it was gone, that would last for months. I then read something about olive oil, which sounds crazy to put on oily skin but I tried it (extra virgin olive oil). I had a lot of acne scars and within two days I have seen and incredible difference. The acne scars have dramatically faded. I have tried many fade creams in the past 20 years and none of them have worked. The extra virgin olive oil worked in two days! Rub in in for 10 to 15 minutes. This stuff does not break you out. I have never written a blog before in my life, but I felt and obligation to post this so maybe someone else will not have to suffer for 20 years!

Now that you mention it, I used to get horrible cysts on my scalp. I started using Head and shoulders for dandruff and I haven't gotten any! It's been several months. I'm a little scared to try on my face though. How did you use it?

Glad to hear you have found something that works for you but please be careful.

Researchers at the National Institutes of Health have found a correlation between an ingredient found in shampoos and nervous system damage. The experiments were conducted with the brain cells of rats and they show that contact with this ingredient called methylisothiazoline, or MIT, causes neurological damage.

Which products contain this chemical compound MIT? Head and Shoulders, Suave, Clairol and Pantene Hair Conditioner all contain this ingredient. Researchers are concerned that exposure to this chemical by pregnant women could put their fetus at risk for abnormal brain development. In other people, exposure could also be a factor in the development of Alzheimer's disease and other nervous system disorders.

The chemical causes these effects by preventing communication between neurons. Essentially, it slows the networking of neurons, and since the nervous system and brain function on a system of neural networks, the slowing of this network will suppress and impair the normal function of the brain and nervous system.
