Ok, so I can see some real changes in my skin's texture... It's definitely drying out. After I wash it there are little flakes all over (nothing crazy), especially around where I have bumps drying out and going away. I just really gently scratch it away with my fingernail and it's fine. I am using Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser to wash and Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer to moisturize (obviously) twice a day. I sometimes don't use moistturizer in the morning because it makes my makeup more slippery. That's been my routine for awhile now, and there's no need to change it up yet. So dryer than usual but not too dry.
I honestly just want to run my hands over my face all the time to make sure it's really still smooth (I can't all day because I'm wearing makeup, but I WANT TO!!!). Plus I know I'm not supposed to touch my face (yeah right). Typically, even if I woke up in the morning with no NEW bumps, I'd still have old ones in various stages of disrepair, plus the ever present little-bumps-that-go-nowhere. And invariably by the time I'd get home in the evening a few things had grown up during the day. Almost every single day that was the case. The night before last I got a whiteheady-zit on my cheekbone. It was small, so left it alone for the first day then popped it last night (I can't help it). Well this morning the area is flat as a pancake.
My lips are definitely DRY, dry, dry. Didn't like Lypsyl (glad I only spent .99 on it!!). Got Aqhaphor and that works well, but I actually think the best thing so far is regular old Chapstick (I have the Vanilla Mint flavor because it was on sale at Walgreens, lol). I like the convenience of a stick, so I'm glad that worked out. Plus Aquaphor ain't cheap!!
I guess that's all! Based on the online reviews I was addicted to during the interminable 30-day waiting period, quite frankly I was expecting more drama!! A hideous initial breakout!! Joints so sore I could hardly get out of bed!! A spontaneous nosebleed during my anual performance review! But nope - nothing. Lol. Just skin clearing up!
I do understand that it's only been 10 days (out of 153), so there's still time for all that... but so far so good. I'm beginning to think maybe it's not too late for me to be an adult woman with with adult skin. Woot wooooot!!!
I'll keep you posted!!
