I've suffered with acne from the age of 13. Now, a few months from turning 21, I've decided to finally seek professional treatment. I have been prescribed Lymecycline (hard capsules, 408mg) and Epiduo for up to 10 months.

To give some background on my acne, it began as typical teenage spots which were fairly minor. When I got to around 15/16 my acne became worse and was mainly concentrated on my forehead and chin. I went to my GP and was given some sort of topical cream (I can't remember what it was exactly). I had some success with this, but it didn't last very long. Gradually, my acne returned and worsened. Between then and now, I have tried every type of over the counter vitamin/mineral/face wash/cream etc. available. A month ago, I decided to bite the bullet and go and see my doctor who prescribed me Lymecycline (commonly known as Tetracycline) and Epiduo.

My skin is naturally very pale with red undertones which does not help at all! My acne mainly consists of white heads, with the occasional larger under-the-skin bump. I also suffer from red hyperpigmentation which takes a VERY long time to heal after a spot. My acne is the worst it's ever been. I only get the occasional spot on my forehead, but the rest of my face is COVERED. This has really affected my self esteem and confidence. As all acne sufferers will appreciate, just having to deal with this every. single. day. sometimes feels like too much to bear. I just hope I see some improvement in my skin as it's really taking a toll on every aspect of my life.

Week 1

I seemed to get less new spots than I normally would. The Epiduo really irritated my skin and left it very red, stinging and scaly :/

I've attached pictures from the end of week 1.
