Update On Mah Face.

So yeah, birth control was the answer to my acne problems. Along with other problems. Mostly acne tho ;)

Since I'm on my period and I've been terrible with my eating habits, I did break out a bit on the right side of my face last week. Which got some rude comments from my douche bag coworker. >.> I've been drinking a TON of water instead of sugary drinks and I limit my poor eating habits too.

My hyperpigmentation and ice pick scars still persist. I'm deathly afraid of trying anything new. I'd like to try collagen capsules but they're super expensive. I'm also considering other herbal pills to eventually replace the birth control. The side effects of birth control are getting on my nerves like the whole weight gain thing. I honestly don't even eat THAT much. >.> but i do crave horrible foods.

so yeah. if any of you have any suggestions as to how to get rid of scarring, comment down below :) I'd like to hear your thoughts. And ladies please tell me i'M NOT THE ONLY one struggling with birth control!

I'm afraid that changing my BC will ruin my face again. I'm afraid of changing anything.

what's your regime? maybe you need to tweak it to get better results! :D it gets better, i promise!

That's what I am doing! I've been tweaking it too much to the point that I don't know what made my acne worse lol

Of course, having the blood work script for Accutane in my hands makes me feel so much more secure as I can just get on it any time I want :D

My regime is BeYaz ( a couple of days ago i switched from Ortho Tri-Cycline), Tazorac gel 0.1% (last week i made the switch from tazorac cream 0.1% which made me oily), 40mg doxy/day (same) and Benzoyl peroxide wash 5% (same).

I made the mistake of experimenting with some products that made my skin oily and i broke out really bad before my period, so now I am gonna try to dry it out with some other products and just stick to the prescription medication from my doctor.

My diet is a little different and i'm still waiting on my supplements to arrive, so I feel like all of those changes will start showing results in at least 4 weeks.

I'll keep improving my regimen until September. If nothing works I'm getting on Accutane, because I just can't bear another year of this lol

Definately get on accutane if you can. I tried to when I was much worse, but the only dermatologist in my area that took my insurance was such a prick and a creep that I gave up. I tried to get another dermatologist, but I gave up until I tried BC, which worked wonders.

It seems like you just switched all your medications recently. Just let them do their work and don't forget to moisturize! New medications (especially that 5% Benzoyl peroxide) can be really drying and can cause even more irritation.

I'll keep checking back on you to see if you have any results with your new regime! Good luck, and hope that this is what's going to help you! Accutane can go either way and should be a last resort thing :)

I want accutane so badly and I can as I've already convinced my doctor and he gave me the script, but I'm a little hesitant because of its bad rep. I also spent so much money on products which I won't be able to use while I'm on Accutane, so I want to max them out first lol (yeah, I'm cheap like that)

I just got the samples I ordered of Dan's Regimen and one of my all-time favorite face washes !

But yeah, late at night all I do is look at before and afters of people who've taken Accutane :/

That it makes it worse, side effects, pregnancy (in my state you have to be on two different birth control methods so that one doesn't get pregnant, because a girl in my area did and her baby was born with severe defects). There's just a lot that goes into Accutate and I did consider it for a long time but now that I got my horomones in check with BC, its no longer an option for me.

do you have current pics to see the effects of your birth control?
Im not planning on getting pregnant and I've never seen a case where accutane has made things worse.

Yess i'll post some soon

people i've met personally and some that i have spoken to here have had bad experiences with accutane. I'm not trying to talk you out of it or anything! Your body, your choice, and if you feel its the right thing to do, go for it! I'd love to see your progress with Accutane if you do indeed choose to take it.

Yeah, but those bad experienced are based on 2 things:

- taking the recommended dose of accutane

- the acne wasn't bad enough to outweigh the side effects

I will only take a mini-dose, so the few side effects that I will experience will be worth it.

Second, my acne is bad enough, which makes me a candidate for the medicine. Besides, many people with only superficial acne have taken accutane...probably they are also the people who have complained about the side effects the most. Wearing layers of make-up is just disgusting and I really don't think acne makes me look professional or give the impression to people that I have my life together. I don't think that any self-respecting woman would let her life go by with acne on her face.

That's just my opinion and I really hope birth control clear you up completely.

I have the answer to your hormonal acne problems - take DIM Detox. It literally saved my life when it comes to acne. i used to get breakouts around my mouth near that time of the month. After taking DIM my skin instantly cleared up within a few weeks. It got better each day. After being on it from about 2 months my skin was perfect and I never got one breakout! I was acne=free for 4 months. Then I got pregnant and had to stop taking it cause it is a hormone balancer and not safe during pregnancy. But yeah it is absolutely amazing. It's all natural. It costs $40 for a bottle with 60 capsules and last anywhere from 1-2 months. Message me if you want to know more, it's seriously a miracle cure. It's cleared mine and so many of my friend's hormonal acne.

isn't DIM doing the same thing that acne birth control pills do?
