Day 18: Update

It's been about a week since my last post, and there have been lots of changes since then.

My skin has broken out around my mouth (extremely annoying and slightly painful with the really dry lips), and my forehead. They tend to be the ones that build up from underneath the surface of my skin, and get red/swollen. The ones around my mouth are whiteheads...

Since my last post, my lips have gotten really dry. Usually they form this waxy type of coating which is SUPER uncomfortable. The only way I'm able to remedy this is to use Blistex, which helps a lot. My skin overall is also quite dry, so I try and avoid makeup as much as possible, only applying water-based foundation underneath/around my eyes in the morning. I also have noticed that my although my pimples dry up quite fast, they still are red. The contrast of my red pimples to my clearer skin makes me look quite pale.

Also, for all the girls out there who are where I'm at: who feel ugly, dirty, discouraged, disheartened, and depressed about their skin's appearance at this stage... remember that the medication PUSHES the dirt from underneath your skin, out. So all of that crap that's been sitting in your pores for God knows how long, is finally coming out and cleansing your skin. It dries up the rest. I have to continually keep telling myself that over and over.. that this next month is going to be really hard. But think about it, your skin becomes CURED of acne. It biologically changes something in your body to rid your skin of hormone-induced acne. So personally, a month or so of bad skin that can lead to a lifetime of clarity is SO worth the wait. Hang in there with me, girls!
