Week 11 - Will This Ever End?

I have been saying for days that his face is looking better, but when I took pictures tonight and compared it to the past few weeks it doesn't look better at all! I guess I'm too close to it. We do bloodwork on Wednesday and back to the dermatologist on Friday.

For what it's worth, here are this week's pictures:

Most people get clear in apx 90 days. Give it a little more time. And like you said before, he may require two courses. Best of luck! ;)

Mom, i agree with leanna123. It is not unusual to not even clear up till the end of the course. I also recommend you look into changing your son's diet as such severe acne can sometimes be linked to diet in addition to the hormonal changes his body is naturally going through. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Poor kid is pounding the wall in his room. He is having a rough night. He is in a lot of pain. He says it's like pins and needles all over his back and face plus his legs hurt. This is dreadful.

I have asked his doctor before about diet and he wasn't a believer in dietary changes. He goes back on Friday and we will ask again.

Last night was really bad. He is still sleeping. I woke him briefly, but he was still hurting so he took some Tylenol and went back to bed. I don't have the heart to send him to school today.

I am so worried that the Accutane isn't going to work, this will all have been for nothing, and he will still have severe acne.

They do a project in health class where two people (usually a boy and girl) are paired up and they have to take care of an egg for a week. The girl that got my son cried. Actually cried! Truth be told, a few of the girls did, but still. Really?

He has though picked up a girl friend in the last two weeks and she is one of the prettiest, most popular girls in his grade. I am so happy that she can look past the acne and see who he really is. It speaks volumes for her character.
