Soo, I thought I would follow my first entry up with some fotos from the first week of my regime.

I had started using BP a few days before adding Paula's Choice BHA 2% because that needed to be shipped to me. There was incredible peeling after the first day. In fact I could almost not move my face bc of all the stuff coming off ( slightly disgusting sorry) could be resolved with a gentle mechanical exfoliation though. so here goes (first 2 are a side by side of one nights effect, as you can see, redness went away quickly, last one is a take of my dry skin on day 1 with make up) :

I looked up Paula's Choice and it was kinda pricey. Does it work really well? I know already I can't use it with the regimen I am on but I am curious about Paula's Choice products. Do you get your Benzoyl Peroxide from Paula's Choice as well?

I thought the price was okay-ish considering that the products are supposed to last a long time (have been using the BHA for a little over a week and haven't even really made a dent yet)

I suppose, so far they have worked wonders on my skin, I could actually feel an improvement from day 1 onwards but of course after only about 1.5 weeks of use it'd be too soon to tell I guess.
Nope I am getting my BP from my local pharmacy because it's really cheap^^

why can't you use the products?

I can't use the products because I am totally terrified to try anything new. Right now my skin is clear. Very clear. I tried to act like someone with normal acne (not nodular cystic acne like I had) and tried using a Neutrogena toner with salicylic acid in it. I broke out all over my face. Now I am afraid to leave my regimen even for an hour or two. I buy BP from amazon for cheap. I am also using rx benzaclin which has BP in it. I want to try Paula's choice but I am just too scared.

I guess if you're clear there is no need to change your regime. I also don't know whether or not this stuff would work for nodular cystic, I suffer mostly from clogged pores, comedones and on top of that some papules and that kind of thing (so in the acne world I guess that would make my acne not too bad but still annoying). To mee BHA is a godsend (so far) as it seems to remove the one thing that seems to be the perpetrator here..which is a layer of dead skin that blocks everything...(that being said I have never found a Neutrogena face product which I like)
I'll keep posting updates though, maybe I am totally wrong but finger's crossed!

I think the more expensive products are probably worth the money. I am sure you are doing the right thing. Neutrogena is just cheap crap that is available at low end pharmacies...Walgreens, CVS, Target etc...I would like to try again with a toner but I think I have to stay in my budget which allows for about $11.00 for a toner. I want to keep using The Body Shop tea tree oil skin clearing toner. Anyways, Peace!
