Trying To Find A Cure

Well I am a 16 year old dealing with acute acne, hoping to find some type of cure. I've always had pimples but never this bad and this all started last year in july. It's was actually a lot worse then I have it now. My face was swollen and I was in a lot of pain. Now I have a little less acne then last year but it still hurts and my face is really red. I have to go to a dermatologist because it obvious that this isn't going to go away just be waiting it out. My doctor currently has me on this antibiotic called "Erythrocin" and has me putting this gel called "Adapalene" before I go to sleep. To be honest I don't see anything changing, instead it has made my acne worse and I'm not sure if it's because it's cleaning everything I have inside or because my skin is just getting worse. As of now I'm really considering taking accutane. At first I didn't want to do it but I feel like at this point it's my only hope left.

Ask your dermatologist to switch you to Amoxil or Keflex. Those are two powerful antibiotics that knock acne out of the water. I use them both. I take dozens everyday and my skin has stopped breaking out. Stick with the adapalene (differin). With all retinoids, the class this drug is in, you should see an increase in pustules around week six. Improvements usually begin at week twelve. The reason for this is that retinoids shed skin cells and deep inside your skin there were pimples waiting. The adapelene uncovered them, but did not create them. That is why people always notice a worsening when starting adapalene or tretinoin (Retin-A). I have been on differin gel in the past and it worked nicely. Now I am on tretinoin and it works well too. Good luck! Rad hairdo by the way!
