Sooooooo, I've always been plagued by bad skin, and for the past eleven years, I've suffered. After hours of Google-ing, I found that a TCA (Tri-chloroacetic acid) Peel at home was probably the best option for me because: A) I'm poor, and the equipment for this process is cheap. B) It's relatively easy to do and C) I have the opportunity for downtime because of the Thanksgiving holiday.
I've been using ProActiv for about seven years, and it's been just okay for my skin. At one point I had cystic acne, and ProActiv helped me clear that up. Unfortunately, it doesn't do much for scars and I still manage to break out here and there with many, MANY clogged pores (read: blackheads).
