Fine Tuning Regimen

So, I recently started using the Clarisonic Mia with the acne brush head. It's been extremely helpful; I feel like it's the only reason I can wear foundation on a daily basis now. I use just a little to reduce the appearance of the scars on my cheeks. I feel like I'm really fine-tuning my regimen now. Using Eucerin skin calming daily moisturizing cream before the bp/make-up has also been helping to prevent makeup-related breakouts. I think the mineral oil acts as a barrier for the pigments and silicones that clog my pores easily.

The skin around my mouth has been really dry lately (I wake up to some serious flaking in that area). This is just reminding me that I will have to re-tune my regimen when winter comes around. I'm going to need some serious moisture, but I think CeraVe cream will do the trick. I plan on continuing to layer moisturizers. I think this works extremely well, as different moisturizers use different ingredients to trap moisture. During the winter, the Clarisonic will help to removed dead, dry skin, which means (I hope) at least the dryness won't interfere with the efficacy of my treatments! I think this is one of the reasons that I break out so much more during the winter. Winter is really awful for me, usually, in terms of acne. I hope that I can make it through without serious acne/irritation.

My hair is still falling out, and I haven't figured out why. I've become a little more complacent about it. I have a feeling that it will either stop on its own, or my doctors and I will eventually figure it out.

Recently, I tried to replace CeraVe PM with the Resist Anti-aging Clear Skin Hydrator from Paula's Choice, but I had a suspicion that it gave me a couple of pimples. I think I'm going to continue with my current regimen for at least 3 or 4 weeks before adding something in. At least, that way, I will know whether or not this product is actually efficacious or whether my timing to try the product was just bad. To some extent, of course, using any new product can cause some mild irritation/a breakout until your skin gets used to it. All I know, is that the worst feeling is when you overwhelm yourself with a plethora of new products and two or three weeks later, you are at a loss when you breakout and you don't know what's breaking you out. It's best to take it one product at a time. It's not a sprint!

Nearly two months ago, I started re-using bp and did that for 3-4 weeks before adding in the Clarisonic (even though I had bought it a while ago) and a week later, matchmaster makeup. Then, a bit after that, I added in my Eucerin skin calming cream. Last night, I added PC's skin recovery cream. I think I should wait to add in the RESIST. Actually, I think the Eucerin and Skin Recovery cream were added in too close together, but I've used the Eucerin cream before and I know for a fact that it doesn't break me out. I feel like I'm tweaking and adjusting my regimen. I don't want perfect skin, I just want to stop random breakouts. They're really draining, honestly, because it feels like my skin will start spiraling out of control every time they happen. Also, I want to be able to give my skin antioxidants. (And, I don't want to waste the money I spent on these paula's choice products!)
