Day 1

Background of my acne.

I started with adult acne around 3 years ago (aged 26). Until this point, I had never suffered with spots and had the most perfect skin. I was devastated...it wasn't gradual. I woke up one morning with huge, painful spots and my confidence hit the floor. I used heavy make up to cover the acne, which resulted in more aggressive spots...so, I went to my doctor who prescribed a 3 month course of anti-biotics. The anti-biotics made me feel queasy and as there wasn't any instant results (impatient, I know!) I discontinued taking them.

Second visit to doctor, I was given Epiduo.

Epiduo suited me at the time, as the stinging and dryness made me feel like it was actively working. For a week, I used twice daily. My skin hurt!! So, I applied once in the evening for a short period of time....until I got completely tired of the dryness and stinging and gave up!

I have decided to do a blog...so I can keep an eye on any changes in skin/routine and also for anyone else to share their experience smile.png

Day 1- Monday 2nd September 2013

Woke up this morning, several sore spots along my jawline. Really angry spots cry.gif . My face is also suffering from tiny white-ish spots/bumps underneath my skin on my cheeks and the area of skin between bottom lip and chin. I presume they are under the skin? They are not red, sore or very visible...they are noticeable under certain light. They are not the main problem, but I would like them to disappear along with the sore, red spots!

So...I have decided that I am going to give Epiduo a real chance. I have read many posts on here advising people to persevere and stick to it. So that is what I am going to do.

I have decided not to exfoliate my face tonight, as I do not want to aggravate my skin. Instead, I am going to remove make up using baby wipes, apply a pea-sized amount of Epiduo to my cheeks, jaw, neck, nose and forehead. Then when dried, smoother with FreeDerm moisturiser.

I will write tomorrow- hopefully these spots will be less angry.
