Current Obsession



My current obsession right now:

As ridiculous as this may sound, it's been working for me and showed results almost immediately (2~3 days).

***I've been using filtered, drinking water to wash my face for the past few days, and currently I have zero breakouts...whereas usually I would definitely have a couple of explosions or mild cysts here and there. ***

The reason why I started doing this was because I noticed that after moving downtown (for college), I've been experiencing a lot more breakouts. The water is pretty rough here so I thought I would try washing my face with cleaner water from my brita filter... and the next day I noticed that my skin was a lot softer and a lot of my inflammations had died down.

How do I do it?

Honestly, I feel pretty ghetto doing it haha, I just took a plastic bottle lying around from a sprayer, cleaned it nicely, and put filtered water inside. I basically use one hand to wash my face with cleanser and then pour water into the same hand and rinse it off. I feel like a cat washing itself. It's pretty inefficient and more time consuming so I've been trying to find ways to make this process better. Any ideas?

Background on my skin:

Fighting moderate to severe acne for more than 3 years now, it started when I was 17.

I have a lot of pigmentation and bunch of red scars pretty much everywhere on my face. Quite a few indents near the cheek area as well.

In the past year it's gotten better. Usually I'll have a few areas with pimples but right now there are no bumps (thanks to the water for now!)

I wear makeup everyday (bb cream + powder), so I make sure to cleanse my face very well.

I've tried many things and decided to go with mostly natural remedies since that's what seems to work best for me.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Redness Soothing Gentle Scrub (green bottle)

  • Definitely not a fan of over the counter products, but I absolutely love this one. Especially because I wear a lot of makeup everyday, I do a thorough cleanse every night which really dries out my skin. But after using my makeup removing foam-wash, I always use this product all over my face and massage it gently for about a minute. It leaves my skin moisturized and soothed. Although it's a scrub, I use it daily and it helps a lot.

    Vitamin E (capsules)
    • Once every 1-2 weeks.

    Other things I've been doing obsessively:

    [*]Washing pillow case very, very frequently

    [*]Sanitizing phone with cotton and rubbing alcohol

    [*]Sanitizing keyboard

    [*]Drinking water before bed

    There was so much more I wanted to write....but I'll go sleep for now. :)
