My guess is it isn't working for you but it can take up to 2-3 weeks just for an acne system to work for your skin especially things you can buy at drugstores or products like proactive with similar ingredients

If you have cysts, the inflammatory big sore zits, you need an anti-biotic along with the topical treatments. I used to have SEVERE cystic acne. I went through periods of being uninsured and therefore unable to treat my disease. Recently, like 6 months ago, I started taking Amoxicillin anti-biotic pills. Worked wonders! cystic acne? Gone! I now use a variety of prescription medications for my skin including topical anti-biotics. I love the idea of proactiv and X-out but sometimes a stubborn case may need medical attention. I use topical clindamycin (a topical anti-biotic gel) which is quite moisturizing. I also use Benzaclin twice a day. Benzaclin is a combination of Benzoyl Peroxide 5% and clindamycin 1%. Add to that, Retin-A 0.1% cream. In short, I threw the book at my acne and I am cured! Good luck (and btw I don't think you are using it wrong.)
