My Plan B: Day 5

MY PLAN B TO GET RID OF OILY SKIN:

I've decided to be extremely persistent with my own tailor made regimen for the next 1.5 years before my wedding day. I've been having a long battle with my acne for at least 8 years now. To be honest, it did improved throughout time - I no longer get those nasty cysts but instead, I get a WHOLE BUNCH of whiteheads scattered around my chin, cheek, and upper lip area. My face is extremely oily - and when I say oily, I do mean it. My face gets super shiny around 30 mins after I showered. I need to blot my face 2-3 hours after I walk out. It's horrible and I just couldn't find any good product that could control the oil production.

So, in order to avoid having new whiteheads almost everyday, I've decided to do the following:

1) Neostrata gel plus AHA 15% each night (overnight)

2) Back to my megadose vitamin B5 to reduce the oil (5 pills each and 4 times per day)

On top of that, I am trying to avoid all harsh products such as bp because my face might have produced more oil to compensate for the dryness.

Anyways, in terms of my progress, I've been doing the peel for over 1 week already (around 11 days) and the texture of my skin is so much smoother. I realized my pores are actually smaller as well. In terms of acne wise, I am breaking out with whiteheads. I am not sure if this is the purging stage or what, but I wake up everyday to a bunch of new whiteheads on my face (which eventually would inflame and turn into an actual pustule). In terms of my face, it is still quite oily. I am not sure if I see a dramatic improvement in terms of the oiliness though. It's only been the 5th day since I started megadosing. I am hoping that it will reduce the oil soon. But in terms of side effects, I am not experiencing the diarrhea yet.

For those of you who are having the same problem as me - perhaps mild acne, extremely oily face and whiteheads, I am not sure if this actually works but you could also give it a try?

I use benzaclin and studies have shown that in can reduced inflamed cysts by up to 63% with regular use which is twice a day...I know your skin gets dry buy you can always use an oil-free moisturizer...I just don't want you to walk away from what could be a beneficial treatment...if you read my blog you'll know I use everything...Benzoyl peroxide mixed with clindamycin>the anti-biotic portion, topical clindamycin (alone),spironolactone (stems oil production), amoxicillin oral anti-biotic and tretinoin .1%....as a result of using all these medications as directed every day I have a near normal comlexion..unfortunately I still get an occassional cyst or small pustule (barf) but I have a 96% improvement over using nothing....just something to think about...I also use an oil-free Purpose moisturizer when needed..the tretinoin removes the scaly dry skin left over from the benzaclin and the topical clindamycin is very moisturizing oddly enough...

THANK YOU! I will look into the products you recommended. I am hoping to have clear skin too. I feel like I am obsessed with my skin especially when I am getting married next year. :)
