New To Spironolactone

I have been on Amoxil for about a year and it has worked wonders. I had severe cystic acne. I had tried several different anti-biotics with no success..ie..minocycline and doxycycline hyclate and tetracycline and finally I went back to my old dermatologist and she began prescribing Amoxicillin and Cephalexin and they both work very well. I also use topical clindamycin and Retin-A..both seem to do their part. The new addition to the mix is Spironolactone. I am only on 50mg a day which worries me based on the reviews I have been reading...anyway I should trust my dermatologist she is really good and serious about curing my acne..I have been on the spironolactone for 8 days exactly. I am also staying on Amoxicillin so it is hard to know if the sprionolactone is working. Anyway, my mom says she can already notice a difference which I think is weird but ok...I definitely plan to stick with it...and my dermatologist plans to wean me off of Amoxil which I am very nervous about...I went almost three years without health insurance and thats when my face imploded...since I have gotten signed up with public health insurance I can treat my medical problems clearly...I wash my face several times daily and keep it bathed in anti-biotic gel and retin-a...that has helped with smaller pimples...the large ones have been taken care of by amoxil...I guess thats all for today! Good luck to you all!
