It Was Like Total And Utter Insanity! Insanity!

"I was just walking down ze street one day and a man come up to me and he zaid "Do you want to be a szupermodel?" And ze next day I am in New York and on ze cover of VOGUE." Superstar!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sImj8OoKXVs

So I was considering not doing a photo montage in supermodel documentary style, but then I was like NAH! They want to see gratuitous close-ups of my face (who wouldn't?), and they have every right to demand that from me.

But yeah, as you can see, in my non-model shots, my skin has improved nicely (or so I'll tell you), I only have a few fading red marks on my left temple, with a pimple in my eyebrow. There are some small pimples below my lips and around my chin area. As well as fading patches of seb derm on the left side just lateral to my nose and around my chin. This is after about 2 weeks of the DKR and a few months with the Selsun and Zinc.

In non-acne related news, my weekend was great. I went to ze beach on Friday, with people from church. We had the most delicious cake, it was passionate fruit cake. I should have really taken a photo, considering how food obsessed you lot are, plus it was the best passionate fruit cake I've ever had. Goodness gracious, I want some more now!!!

But first I need to rant about the coast. It is stunning, absolutely, but as soon as you go there your self-esteem drops about one or two notches. Every beautiful person just runs, in some sort of giant loop I'm convinced, along the boardwalks. Then they all strip semi-naked and lay on the beach after they're done running. It is really quite overwhelming. But thankfully a lot of them seem to blessed with little brains. See the culture is all about how low your ute (an endemic pick-up truck) is, whether it is a metallic shade of green or purple, whether the street vibrates with the resounding of your bass enhanced Ministry of Sound album and how large your UNIT sticker on the back is. Oh and you must live at the gym, because appearing on Jersey Shore, is basically your goal in life. If you're female, the hair is fake, impossibly long, and lightened to some gross "platinum" blonde, but why stop at the hair? The breasts are almost certainly enhanced, the tan derived from a carotene containing bottle, and their personalities seem somehow mimicked from The Hills and 90210.

Alright, let's move along. Umm, Saturday was entirely dull, but it didn't really matter because Friday was good enough. Except that I watched The Help, did I ever mention that I love Emma Stone (funny and hot!), it's true, she's up there. Plus the movie was actually on an interesting subject, 'coloured' servants in the south, so I really enjoyed it, the acting was top-notch. And then I just had to revisit Easy A, I think she just completely cracks me up in this movie, she has the best personality, now I wonder if she's like this in real life. Please let it be so.

On Sunday, I went to work, and had a good chat to my geeky friend, who brought his girlfriend along with him, at church. I then said my last goodbyes to my nun-boss. Spent the afternoon at the gym (well a whole hour of it). By the way, I've finally renewed my membership, so now I have no excuse not to do fitness related things. In fact, I'm even playing tennis this afternoon. So superfitness here I come!

Oh and let's extend this blog to Monday (my weekend never really finishes), I went to work for the first time back at another house. So we went out to some ridiculous suburb deep in the northside, and picked up his new wheelchair. It was cool seeing this client again, he's a little more easy going and fun than my other one, so that makes work a bit more pleasurable. Hopefully I'll get some more shifts with him.

Ok, I'll quit rambling now. The End. I mean it is finished. Fin. Game Over.

I forgot to mention, the house hunt is still going. And I really need to clean my room. Done.

I think I have to leave you with the end credits theme to every movie during the 00s, just to show you how done I am.

Wooohooo...now why do photos automatically make a blog much more interesting? But there seems to be a big problem with your photos....I can't see one zit! Your skin looks flawless.... Damn that flatter lighting... Or wait......don't tell me you've been faking having acne just so you can fit in with us spotty bloggers? Thats desperate Om....desperate!

Oh, and is chatting to your geeky friend the same as talking to your ugly friends, even though they are geeky/ugly? Thats really nice of you, you have a very kind heart. I can tell :P

Oh, and why do your beaches have bimbos on them and my beaches have normal people on them?

I love gratuitous close-ups! Photos definitely add a little something-something to a blog, even though they're all "ooh, my skin is so bad, look at how gorgeously bronzed and electrified I look" glamour shots. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say it was the camera, and not that you're faking it to fit in. Although Resery's a bit of a faker these days too. A Wannabe Spotty.

That was an incredibly attentive description of the Coast, and pretty accurate. It's easy to spot a Coastie in town; they stand out like a platinum-blonde pimple on a pair of animal-print stilettos and are outfitted in a lot-cut singlet and teeny-tiny muffin-topped skirt. Gorgeous specimens.

Hey, don't bag the geeks. Especially one that has a girlfriend! That's pretty awesome stuff right there.

I want passionate fruit cake. Or at least a photo.

Yes, the lighting is rather orange, plus the only camera I own is on my iPhone. So it's not very good quality, I may use the higher megapixel camera on the back if I can get some sort of autotimer app, and I'll have to get a fluro lamp, that way I can prove my glorious acne. I'm just lucky to have olive skin, so it hides a lot of defects.

@Resery: Lol, I'm sure your beach bimbos aren't half as tacky as the Gold Coasts', but they could be. Where I grew up old people and families wander the beaches. So everyone smiles and says "hello" to you as you walk by. No one ever frowns or swears. We mostly just burst out in perfectly harmonised song, while holding hands down the beach. No beach bogans there. So I think it shatters my dreams more than anything.

Yes, I love my geeky friends, I don't have enough of them. I'm not really sure why I call him geeky, he just likes to discuss the complex issues of building regulations, and how the old houses are only inches off underneath of being classified as bedrooms and so people often have to either dig deeper or heighten their stilts, when really they should just include an exclusion clause for older homes. And how the glass of an iPhone screen is designed using similar ideas to that of a concrete block, in that it was designed to be initially slightly bent in the opposite direction, the pressure of the frame keeps it in its place. Because of these qualities it is far less likely to smash when being hit front on, but it's side on resistance is inferior. Ha ha, he also plays the piano, and is obviously an Engineer. I always learn something new from him. From now on he shall be called The Engineer.

@unblvbl: Yes, didn't you hear?! All the cool kids hang-out on acne websites. Acne is so hot right now!

Ha ha, I'm with you on the Coastie in town. Have you ever been 'out' to the Coast? Now that's an adventure. I'm always afraid I'll be stabbed, or choked to death with leopard print. Although moving to Queensland was a little like that as well. You're all "Togs" this and "Maroons" that, and you purport to be the "Smart State", I always wondered if that was supposed to be ironic. :P

I want more passion-fruit cheese cake too. There will be photos next time.

You know what? I take the subject of cake very very seriously, but there seems to be a little bit of ambiguity or perhaps intentional misleading of the average blog reader around the subject of the passionate fruit cake. Now when your blog my first thought was 'fruit cake, nup, not a big fan.....but PASSIONATE fruit cake certainly sounds interesting. I second unblvbl's photo demand". But now it seems you've change passionate to passion-fruit, and fruit cake to cheese cake. Whats going on here...can someone explain? I'm going to find it hard to sleep unless this contradiction is resolved. Anyone??

He's an engineer? Now why didnt you explain that right at the beginning? I have heaps of engineer clients...they drive me insane. I find that putting all my recommendations into a spreadsheet with some kickarse formulas makes them feel much more comfortable. Works a treat.

"Everyone says hello and never frowns or swears". My god, its like you're describing me EXACTLY! Psychic or what?

See my delightfully attractive photos? You could do the same and take them near a window. Stop cheating with the 'soft orangey lighting effect". We want to see acne damn it!

Lol, it was definitely passion-fruit cheese cake. My apologies, I was clearly just very passionate about the cake. I got lost in all that zeal, and misnamed it. Such a travesty! I PROMISE I WILL NEVER MISNAME A CAKE AGAIN!!

Yes, they like to talk endlessly about mathematics and the most logical ways to do things. Logic, pfft, what is that?!

Ok, next time I'll do some full-blown HD acne porn for you, with terrible lighting to highlight my flaws. Will that make you feel better? Will I be accepted then?! Please, please I want to be part of the acne club!

I actually prefer "passionate fruit cake", it makes me picture myself eating it off a highly polished spoon, wearing blood-red lipstick saying "mmmm" sensually, like in an advertisement for a dishwasher or something (the most boring products often have the most risque ads).

Oooh, acne porn, I'm excited! Or disturbed. It's a fine line. ...Maybe I'm just excited about the cake?!

And hey, who's this "You're" you're talking about with respect to being a Banana Bender?!... I'll have you know I'm an import too!

Ha ha, it's true. I forgot where you're from was in some other state that isn't really a state. A thousand apologies. I'd hate to be mistaken for a Queenslander. lol.

I'm excited about the porn.

So neither of you have Qld accents?? Oh how disappointing because I read each of your blogs with a queensland twang. Hmm..I shall have to rethink accents.

Oh oh oh...and how did I not notice the "SuperSTAR" video link?? I'm sure that wasnt there before either. I god damn love that movie...

He he, I may have sneakily edited the post. I realised that people may have not seen Superstar, and so they could do with some more context to understand my awesome reference.

OMG, you have to see it! You'll be placing your hands in your arm-pits and then obsessively sniffing them in no time! It's like a B-grade comedy/cult hit, with Will Ferrell and Molly someone. Apparently it's a "Saturday Night Live" film. Whatever that means. But it's hilarious, and almost as good as Napoleon Dynamite.

Napoleon dynamite is shite (actually, I've not seen it) but Superstaaaaarrr is amazing. Haha, I just did the armpit quote on another comment and then read it here. High five Om.

Oh, and even though I love that movie to death, I still didnt recognise the supermodel hour quote in print. Pfff...I'm hopeless.

Edited to fix spelling error, or as I like to call them - typos. Yes, I'm THAT vain.

Okay I've not seen Napoleon Dynamite either. It's so weird, I'm pretty sure I'm the only person that goes to this uni that hasn't seen it. Was it like a hazing thing that I missed because I wasn't cool enough to be invited to?

Hey, I edit my conments to fux shtupid errors al the time. It's not vanity, it's called being a perfectionist ;)

Gosh! How am I ever supposed to excessively quote some of my favourite quirky movies without you having seen them. This weekend is for Napoleon Dynamite and Superstar watching. It was not a hazing thing - I watched them when I was a teenager, with some crazy friends that were into drama.

Warning: they're both "love it or hate it" movies.

Hey, I excessively quoted my favourite movies and you haven't seen them. Okay here's the deal; I'll watch those two movies if you watch Clue and The Princess Bride. Deal?

Okay, consider me warned wink.png Not sure when I'll get to watch them though, I don't have a video store membership, and am not even sure where the nearest one is. I miss my car.

*Edited for excessive spacing.

Lol, I'm sure I've seen The Princess Bride (just not enough times to quote it). I've never even heard of Clue. *looks it up on imdb* oh right, a murder mystery. I may watch it. Is it really that good?

The answer is to get yourself a ship, with sails, and a pirate flag, and go gather some treasure. ;) Or ride your bike/go for a jog.

What happened to your car? (have I missed this story?)

Well then you obviously haven't watched it enough! Watch it again. It grows on you. Do it... Do it!

It's totally ridiculous but a lot of fun. It's a cult, but no one's ever heard of it and it can be hard to get your hands on. If you're a fan of puns, clever one-liners, silly jokes and a bit of light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek murderous comedy then you'll appreciate it. But since my family and I grew up with it, I'm not going to say that you'll love it because it might be one of those "you had to be there" type things!

Thanks Om, that's super helpful since I don't know where there is a video shop... So I'll just start walking until I hit one, right? Good plan.

My car is back home. Nope, no story! Sorry, completely boring. Although driving in this city scares the false teeth out of me; drivers here are insane, and I hate traffic jams.

Your plan: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=closest+video+store%3F

Ok, I will have to watch it. If I can find it. It sounds at least interesting. Plus I will rewatch The Princess Bride, ha ha, such a chore. :P

Yeah, I always feared driving in the city too, but kind of had to for work. So now I'm used to it, and I'm slowly devolving into a Queensland driver (don't indicate, be aggressive, mostly just swerve/scream profanities at other drivers).

I did not even think of that! Now of course I'm put on the spot, and couldn't think of a pun to save my life.
