Crushed

Have you ever had a crush on your teacher? Until university I had not. In fact, I'm pretty sure the opposite occurred. My high school art teacher (my favourite teacher) used to call me by her husband's name, one of those slip-of-the-tongue things, but several times every art lesson. Needless to say I was her favourite student (I mean smart, handsome and artistic, how could she resist) and so she'd spend hours helping me with ideas, and painting. She even used to drop off supplies to my house. But strangely enough I was infatuated with her daughter. Anyway, back to university. For one of my electives I did a first year literature course. Every lecture I would spend staring at this beautiful woman. Long black glossy hair (Pantene's CGI hair eat your heart out), perfect smooth olive skin, luscious lips, large round dark almond eyes. She was gorgeous (probably still is) and it was so distracting. Intelligence and beauty for me is like cyanide. I mean Natalie Portman, Dear God. I think I'm convinced that it actually isn't a good thing. Anyway, I loved that subject, and so I've been reading more contemporary literature, and well I've found that I can hardly read anything less well-written than say Harry Potter. I even find it hard to read Matthew Reilly now. They just seem sub-par. Which is annoying because a lot of Fantasy and Sci-Fi isn't that well written. But lately I have been reading and loving The Magician, and The Magician King, it's fast paced, subversive and intelligent. Written by Lev Grossman (a Times Columnist I think), it's like Narnia cum Harry Potter, only more twisted, philosophical and adult. I know, I have revealed my inner nerdiness, please don't destroy me.

My skin, unlike the Literature Lecturer's, is not perfect at the moment. However, the seb derm above my lips is red, but not flaking. So that probably means at least a few days till it fades. I'll try and keep applying AHA and some selsun. As for my acne, well it's slowly going. I have a few scabby pimples still around my temples. And some small unformed lumps on my forehead and between my eyes. Hopefully with all the AHA I'm using it'll clear up.

I can't believe your teacher had a crush on you. That's kind of creepy. But intriguing. Now I'm equally intrigued and heebie-jeebied (that's a perfectly cromulent word), which is a weird feeling. Kind of how I felt today when I ate one of the "strawberry creme" Oreos that I purchased when I was overseas... Actually that was a terrible idea, it tasted absolutely horrible. It smelled like a 12 year-old girl's lipgloss and tasted like how benzene smells- all chemically and sickly sweet, with no hint of actual strawberry. Anyway, once again I digress...

I don't think I've had a crush on a teacher before. When I was in primary school I remember accidentally calling my teacher of the time (Mrs Rigg, awesome woman) "Mum" though, and was completely mortified. In my department there's one lecturer who is extremely fit (very well-built male lecturer with an accent... first-year girl kryptonite), who most girls swoon over, but for some reason I've never felt that attraction. Of course I still appreciate his physique (I am a red-blooded female, after all); being that muscular takes a lot of dedication!

Ah, yes, I've heard of The Magicians, but haven't read it. I'm re-reading the A Song of Ice and Fire series (Game of Thrones) now before I watch the HBO series (it looks so, so awesome), which I highly recommend, but I imagine you've already read them. And now my inner nerdiness is also coming out. But since we're already posting on an acne forum, we've pretty much destroyed any chance of having street cred. Luckily we're using pseudonyms, so are safe from real-life retribution ;)

And hurry up and reply to my email! I told you about throwing up in my ex-boyfriend's shoe, you owe me Om!

Personally, I find it really unprofessional and insulting that spotty people write blogs on an 'acne' website whch are filled with complete rubbish about really fun filled lives, with a token "oh go on then, I suppose I better throw in a couple of lines about acne" tossed in right at the end. Its actually quite offensive.

Now, onto more pressing matters.....how good was Natalie Portman in "Closer"?. OH GOD, enough to turn one lesbian. Oh.....of course second to you unblvbl. ([i think i got away with that. And the fact that I've put this into double parentheses will protect me twice as much])

unblvbl wow, I haven't read Game of Thrones, and of course I've heard the glowing recommendations. It's definitely on the read next list. The HBO series does also sound awesome, but like you I have to read books before I watch them...Ha ha, I will definitely get to your email. I don't know about you, but I post on this forum to increase my street cred. And well, I think it's definitely increasing. I mean I can tell when people look at me, they're thinking that guy is so cool. He must write an awesome blog on acne.org.

Resery: Eiven Gleiven, Natalie Portman in Closer, I just drooled all over my keyboard. Not only is she smart, but she is hilarious, and talented. I'm convinced we should clone her, I would have her babies/clones.

Haha whoops! Well, I was young (too young), and naive (ditto). After some encouragement from his (ex's) friends, I met Johnnie Walker for the first (and last) time. This promptly led to me being sick, in his brand new sneaker, some skating brand I think. I'm still not sure he knows it was me, muahaha! Poor guy, he really was quite a decent person.

Also, now I can't see Om's latest blog update. It's doing the loop thing again, even though I tried in Chrome and Firefox. Bah!! The site hates me :(

Still can't see it. Half glad it's not just me that can't see it, half annoyed because it means you can't email it to me or something. I blame Om, I've not convinced he actually exists. I mean he doesn't even have a name, does he? That's just creepy.

Ha ha, I have a name. It's Stephen, or Stevo, or Steve or whatever suits your fancy. I always wonder what my parents were thinking. Let's give our son an entirely boring name! Ha ha I'd much prefer Leith, or Soul, or Treewhisperer, or Waterrunningdownmountain. It's just entirely generic, and my Gamertag, that I made when I was 12, is definitely more creative.
