Day 50 - Sun related advice please!

Hello everyone.

Skin looks quite nice today!! Gave myself a little facial using No 7's "Radiance Boosting" cream. Just applied it after shower while pores were open, leave for 5 mins and rinse with warm water. Then slapped a bit of my Clinique SuperDefence night cream.

This morning it was nice and soft, hardly any flaky dry bits and most of my spots have gone down (apart from a new juicy one on my forehead - luckily my fringe covers it) :)

I need some advice though!

Going to Barbados in 7 weeks and am quite scared about my skin burning. Before accutane I could handle the sun to an extent. I am blonde and quite fair but considering my colouring I didnt burn that bad pre-accutane. So... what factor cream should I be using out there??

I've bought SPF50 for my face (coz Ive suffered with an extreme case of sunburn to the face before..not good!) and then SPF30 for my body. Also an SPF20 if I can chance it near the end of the holiday?? Anyway, advice would be appreciated!

Not long till next derm appointment. I would ask him for advice regarding sun exposure but I did already mention it to him on my first appointment and he merely brushed it off by saying "Oh dont worry you'll be on your fourth month of treatment by then"...well what difference does that make?! ahh.

Speak soon

HI Sunshine! That is so weird that your derm just brushed off your questions on sunblock, even if you weren't on Accutane they always say you should where it! Anyways - I am just like you blonde and fair. I use an spf 30 and it works just fine for me, I still even get tan with it, although it take a little longer. I used to love love love laying out, going to tanning beds and being tan. But now I am 32 and changing my mind, i dont want wrinkles! haha!!but the Accutane def. makes my skin more sensitive to the sun and you dont want to burn and ruin your vaca.. I think you would be fine with a 30, but reapply often, especially if you are in the water. I am going on month 3- went for a super long bike ride this weekend, forgot the sunblock and I was actually okay!hope that helps a little!

Thank you! Yes it does help, very much  I know what you mean, I don't want premature wrinkles, so I'm happy to slap factor 50 on my face.Luckily ive bought a fair bit of Factor 30 for my body!

I'm worried about this too!I'm heading to Ibiza next week, and usually I LOVE sunbathing and getting a tan. I wear 8 - 15 usually, I never let myself burn. But I don't want to cause any lasting damage to my skinif it's in a delicate condition from tane. Derm told me to stay out of the sun altogether. I think I'll follow your example and put on 30 just to be safe. And 50 on the face. I can always get a tan next year (boo hoo)x
