Day 2

I don't have anything to report about my Accutane experience so far, but one thing I realized I never mentioned in my previous posts was a report about the current state of my skin in the months leading up to Accutane. In the past two months I have had 10-15 cysts on my face, all on my chin with the exception of one small one on my forehead which is very random for me. I get most of these injected with cortisone shots to try to prevent scarring. I've also had strange breakouts on my right cheek, not cystic, but somewhat unusual for me. I very rarely have pimples on my back or chest (like a few tiny one's in a year), so in the past they haven't been an area of concern for me. My skin has been unusually bad for the last few months, but perhaps there's a silver lining in that it pushed me to finally try accutane!

I'll report back in a few days when I start to feel some of the Accutane effects. :)

Hey!I'm about a week ahead of you in the Accutane journey, but have been reading your blog and your symptoms sound suspiciously like mine. I'm 29 now and have only just developed acne this year, which they have officially diagnosed as Pyoderma Faciale. I'm on 40mg OD and they think I'll be on it for six months. My main worry is the redness/scarring from the horrible lesions I have suffered, but I have been looking into treatments for this once I'm off of the Accutane. So good luck with your treatment and I hope you get on ok. x

Thanks so much for the note! I totally hear you on the redness/ scarring. I'm really worried about it too which is why I am constantly running to the derm to get cortisone shots. But, there are many options for scar treatments once we finish Accutane, so I'm sure we will have beautiful skin again. :)Please keep me posted on your progress! It's nice to be able to compare notes. Good luck!!
