2 Weeks In..Let the nose bleeds begin....

Morning all

I'm 2 weeks in to my treatment! Woo. Only another 14 weeks haha

Sadly I have no great news to deliver. Things are pretty much the same in terms of spots but the skin on the sides of my nose are so sensitive!! It really stings when I put moisturiser and make up on... Also, the skin just around the nostrils is so dry and I was able to pull little flakes off this morning sitting at work. Not the best look. I smothered my nostrils in Aquaphor, which is nice and relieving :D and it helps a lot.

On the subject of noses, I'm sure my nose is trying desperately to bleed! Again on the train I put a tissue into my nostril a slight bit (gently) and there was blood on the tissue. I'm finding it hard to breathe in properly as it feels like I have a blocked nose but in fact it is dry inside. I haven't had a full blown nose bleed yet but I'm thinking it may happen soon :naughty: I've never had one in my life and don't really want to start now!! Plus im wearing a cream dress! Silly idea.

And my eyelids. Wow. I use liquid eyeliner every day and its never been a problem until now. It BURNSSS! My eyes water so much I'm debating whether there's much point putting eye makeup on at all!! Lol. Has anyone else experienced this??

Anyways. Speak again tomorrow.xx

Hey SunshineNic, I've been reading your blog with interest as a week today I am due to see my Derm, with a view to starting Accutane. At least starting this medication will give us an end point to our suffering, but I'm scared about it getting worse before it gets better.I see your into Clinique - I use that (its the only products I do use!) and I'm into the anti-blemish solutions pump wash, toner and moisturiser. I also wear quite a bit of make-up and would well recommend anti-blemish solutions foundation - it gives good coverage (apart from the bumps!). Anyways, I will continue to check out your blog and wish you lots of look on your quest for clear skin!!

Hi there  thanks for your comment, it's nice to know another fellow 'sufferer' lol.Funny enough I do use Cliniques anti-blemish! You're right, it is a great cover up. People often have said to me in the past "Ooh you're skin isnt that bad, why do you stress so much??" etc but they hadn't seen me without make-up!!!!I would definately try to go Accutane. My experience so far has been OK, nothing horrific, but like you say I am expecting it to get a lot worse before it gets better. My main worry is that im heading out to the Carribean in October (my 3rd month of accutane) and im so scared that ill burn to a crisp! I'm fair skinned as it is and i hear Accutane makes you susceptible to burning? Anyway, good luck and let me know how you get on!

Hey, wow a holiday in the Carribean - that'll give you something to look forward to! Plenty of big hats and glasses - people will think your famous!! Yes plenty of suncream and cover ups should be fine - I read some bird went to Greece about the same time and she was fine, was just really careful and kept hydrated by drinking water.I know exactly what you mean about people commenting 'its not that bad' - I think people say it to make us feel better, and the best one is 'its getting better', when in fact about 5 more buggers have popped up!! Its so flippin annoying, I hate it. Are you still able to get out there and carry on as normal? I'm finding it hard.I am seeing a Consultant next week who specialises in it, so I will go with about 20,000 questions haha!! So good luck to you too, and I will keep you posted on how I get on. I will keep an eye on your blog and hope that the Accutane works fast for you. Do you know if it helps with present bumps/scarring? I've read loads of contradictions so am unsure!!Take care

Morning! I'm fine with going out and about still (at the moment) then again I don't think I've gone through my initial breakout....so I may feel differently then!I know what you mean about contradictions...every website says something different, so I suppose you have to base it your own experience. It's normal to have loads of questions! I would write them down though because I totally forgot everything I wanted to ask my derm on the day!! For example I wanted to know about sun exposure, whether you can drink on Accutane, whether you can still be waxed, the depression side of things etc...but it all went out my mind!!? Grrr. So, perhaps you will remember! :)
