Day 3 Claravis

Cspivey

I am 24, and have "backne" and acne, mostly on my chin and mouth area.. I finally talked my derm into accutane..well a generic accutane called claravis..which only costs me $10 a month thanks to my husbands awesome insurance!!! I'm on my third day so far I have only had a couple of headaches, but the worst part is that I'm 99% sure that I have an IB on the horizon.. my chin has a new pimple and it is huge and painful/itchy..and what can I say...I had to pop it.. I know I shouldn't because the meds. make scarring easier.. but my nose looks like an oil slick..ugh..But hopefully it will subside before my husband comes home from overseas..He is due to come in for R&R the 13th of August..He's been gone sine Dec 11th 2010... So, far I haven't had any dryness, but it will come *hopefully* but I have an entire stock of different lip moisturizers ready to go.. I am still using my clean&clear 3-n-1 with benzoyl peroxide.. I've never been able to handle salicylic acid.. on top of having acne, I have very sensitive skin.. So I will look normal with the "tane face" lol. I hope some of you read this and follow along with me and share your experiences too.. I'm new to the blog and am going to try and figure out how to post pics and stuff.. does anyone know how people add their tags at the bottom..like how many mg's, and their regimine? Thanks ) Take it easy

I'm on 60 mg Claravis

2X20mgs AM

1X20mg PM

Just wanted to wish you luck! I am 33 and finished a second course of accutane (Claravis) about six months ago. I had taken my first course back in 2002 and had clear skin for almost 8 years. In any case, the second course went very well and I now use a topical (Duac) to maintain perfectly clear skin. The initial weeks on accutane (Claravis) can be rough. There is definitely an IB phase, but it will pass. Be sure to find a good moisturizer because the Claravis will dry your skin out. More than anything, keep your spirits up and I look forward to reading about your progress. Take care.
