Accutane Day 17

On we go...Pill #17 tonight.

I had my first alcoholic drink last night - 2 actually - since beginning the treatment. I was really nervous about this, but all seems well. No unusual after effects to speak of.

As for the skin, dare I say that things seem to be improving? I am NOT shiny and oily anymore - I went out last night without retouching my makeup ALL DAY. I really like this - I can cover up the blemishes with makeup - it's harder to control the oil. So, very pleased with this result. I hope it continues!

Still have a few cysts breaking out around the same areas - the one above my right temple and the one on my earlobe haven't budged at all - and are unpopable. Weird - and annoying. The ones I have popped have dried up, scabbed and flaked off fairly quickly. Scabs and red marks are really the biggest problem right now in terms of appearance. Still have to wear the makeup.

So, things look pretty good! Only gross part is that you can see the tiny white bumps all around my chin and lower face - and the emerging blackheads in my T-zone. You can certainly feel them! And it's yucky. It's like my face is a mountain range of pustules and bumps. Hope these go away soon - but they don't seem to have changed much this week.

In terms of side effects, lips are still dry - but vaseline works wonders. I stopped applying the vaseline to my scalp (which definitely helped instantly) because it was hard to wash out after awhile leaving my hair greasy. Will use only for itchy emergencies in future. Body still aches, but not as much as before - will try the gym again tomorrow. Dry skin still not a huge problem - just a little around my nose.

Hope things are going well for all of you! Thanks for reading!
