Accutane Update/B5?

Knass

I'm about 4 months out from the end of my accutane course (5 months, 20, 20, 40, 60, 80mg). My oil is very slowly returning, my pores are clogging back up and I've had a few very tiny pimples. Still nothing I need more than light coverage makeup for and definitely no cysts or real zits! Overall, I'm very happy, but I know the digression will continue over the next few months.

Anyway, now that my oil is coming back, I'm curious about Pantothenic Acid. Has anyone tried B5 for oil reduction?? Or any other tips?

I tend to forget my old life sometimes (amazing, because the horrible acne lasted the greater part of a decade). I honestly forget just how bad it was because I have a completely different life now. Yesterday, I went scuba diving for a couple hours, combed out my hair, and spent the rest of the day hanging out with my inlaws. NO MAKEUP. For those who don't know me, or haven't read my entire blog, me without makeup is like Marilyn Monroe without platinum hair dye. Thank you Accutane!

I have been taking B5 (Pantothentic Acid) and am LOVING the results. I am also post-accutane and started seeing my oil returning. I panicked, and frantically searched the internet for supplements that reduce oil- Which leaves me to wonder: Why the hell didn't I do that search years ago??I take 10 500mg pills a day. 3 with breakfast, 4 with lunch, 3 with dinner. I should probably increase my dose to the recommended 10g per day, but that would be 20 pills and I'm seeing the oil dissapear with just 10.I thought it was just all in my head, so I didn't take ANY b5 yesterday and sure enough, I was oily by 3pm!Another benefit, is that I've lost a few pounds. It may have to do with the fact that you are taking so many pills- or the fact that it gives you a little 'rhea. Sorry- but you should probably know!I say Try It!
