Day One - Obagi Treatment

Last night I started my Obagi treatment. I have purchased the full kit for normal to oily skin and plan on having an Obagi blue peel in 18 weeks. I am quite nervous as I have heard that the first two weeks will be awful. My skin will be red, raw and flaky.

I suffered from cystic acne from the age of 16 to 21. I was able to go on Accutane and did not suffer from outbreaks afterwards. However, I was left with scarring on my cheeks, forehead and chin. Although I am told the scars are not noticeable they have always bothered me and I am desperate for a permanent solution. I am tired of adapting my life to suit my insecurities with my face.

Previously, I have had three Fraxel laser treatments which cost about $5000. The results were extremely disappointing. Only slight changes to the scarring, not in any way as significant as I was promised.

I also purchased about six months ago a Dermaroller, again I did not feel the results were significant and I did not purchase another one.

I wanted to post on Acne.org as I think it is a fabulous way to share success stories and the reality of treatments and their results. I hope that the Obagi treatment works for me and that I can offer you honest straightforward feedback.

I am a 31 year old white female with boxcar and rolling acne scars.

Day one - skin tight and a little red.
