I have been off of accutane for 9 weeks, or a little over 2 months. I still haven't had any breakouts, save for a few minor clogged pores - certainly nothing I would call a "zit". The oil on my face and hair are returning very slowly. I had to fish out my old packets of oil blotters yesterday but I only needed to use one throughout the day and I didn't even soak it through. Considering I used to go through a packet a week, this is pretty good for me! I'm noticing my pores again and a few on my nose are clogged again, but for the most part, my skin still looks good.
My hair is still falling out and I'm wondering when it's going to stop. My intestinal problems are getting worse and this is one that I most certainly WILL blame on accutane. I have never in my 27 years had any sort of digestive issues until I took accutane. I've said a million times before, I eat a very healthy diet of mostly raw fruits, vegetables and whole grains and I'm at a healthy weight. There is no reason I should have acquired IBS at 27, but as my cummulative dosage of accutane increased, so did my intestinal issues.
So again, I ask myself the question, "Was it worth it?"
.....and I maintain that yes, it was.
