Introduction

I am tired, I am frustrated and I am a little angry that at 31 I still get acne. And not one or two pimples around my period, but 10 or more all the time. Some are little and easy to pop, some are huge and feel like a golf ball.

I thought this was suppose to end after your teen years!

Some history: I started breaking out severely (mostly on my forehead, back and chest) when I was 13. At 14 I used cream my doctor gave me and for the most part it worked, then didn't. I took tetracycline, which worked, and then it didn't. I went on birth control at 19 and that worked. But then went off of it. At age 19 I took Acutane for the first time. Great results, but had to do a second round as I still didn't have a completely clear face. At 21 I was on Trycycline birth control and that worked the best. I had a clear face as long as I was on birthcontrol.

Well, now I am 31, married and off of birth control. At first it wasn't too bad. A few here and there. But then I got a Botox injection, and the acne got way worse!! I think the Botox changed my oil production or something because now I get pimples where I never got them before, like on my cheeks.

Anyways, now I am fighting teenage acne levels at the age of 31.

Here's my story:

Step 1 - don't get BOTOX!

Step 2 - figure out why I still am breaking out 6 months after my Botox injection.

Hi Kymba,I came across your blog while I was just browsing. I'm an undergrad student and freelance writer in the Boston area and I'm actually doing an article on adult acne, you can read more about it on my own blog. Would you be interested in sharing your story?
