Day 83: Did I mention I love accutane?

I love accutane!

But I'm starting to get nervous about the post-accutane days. What if my skin returns to the way it was? What if this was all for nothing? I have my 3 month follow-up next week and I plan to express my concerns to my derm. I sort of feel like I'm going to experience the 'Green Machine' effect--you know, you get a glimpse of perfection and then nothing can ever compare to it. You see what it's like to have flawless, poreless, oil-free skin then when everything returns to normal you're even more depressed because you've seen how great it is. Time will tell, I guess...

So anyway, an update on side effects:

My skin and hair remain completely oil-free, but I'm not peeling much any more. I barely wear makeup and a lot of times I find my skin actually looks better without it (woah! never thought I'd say that!). My pores are very small, skin tone is even, and scars are fading and less noticeable.

I can't seem to get enough sleep. Even 10 solid hours leaves me feeling drowsy. Accutane? I'm not sure, but I'd be curious to see if others have had this problem.

My skin has become Hypersensitive to EVERYTHING. I've developed allergies to almost everything that touches my skin, namely octinoxate, which is used in all things SPF-lip balm, face lotion, sunscreen. I can't use cleaning agents like windex, 409, or pledge. They all make my skin breakout in wierd rashes. I never had sensitive skin before accutane, so I confidently link the two.

Other than that, I continue to be greatful that I stumbled upon this amazing drug!
