its been 20-something days since my first entry and all i can rant about that, as far as i can remember, was how frustrated i was in having nodulocystic acne in clusters for more than a decade already! i was also hoping that this accutane medication that i just started will prove me right, that it is really a miracle drug!
its my day 33 using accutane, and boy, it really IS a wonder drug! you won't notice the change during the 1st 2 weeks, probably because your body is adjusting to the new drug that its taking. but yes, i used to be hopeless in finding a solution in relieving my acne coz of the thousands of dollars that i spent buying all these anti-acne products that never worked.
as for accutane side effects, it was horrible for me; but oh well, i don't really care because its treatable.
my normal skin type is dry, and the moment i took accutane, it got severely dry to the point where flakes were coming off my skin each time i smile. fine lines were more obvious.
my lips were horrible too. i used either chapstick lip butter, carmex and eos, but none of them worked. they just sit on my lips and they're only good for 5-10 mins and i had to reapply again. i was gonna try cortibalm (http://www.drdanslipbalm.com/) because it was created by a doctor and designed for accutane patients due to this expected side effect.
and when people say they had diarrhea, or loose stools, mine was the opposite. i have regular BMs but i had to strain, probably because of the lack of fluids in the GI tract.
but these side effects were treated, and still in the process of treating because im still on this medication. i keep myself hydrated. water bottle is a must now, and i make it to a point that i drink water all the time, for my skin and for my bowels. i also bought a beauty drink (http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/innerglowe-natural-pomegranate-acai-flavor-dietary-supplement-beauty-drink-mix/ID=prod6028670-product) for in between hydration packed with all the vital vitamins and minerals for the skin, hair and nails.
as for the face, i love using dr.hauschka's moisturizing day cream! (http://www.drhauschka.com/) it leaves my skin soft, moisturized and supple like never before! i never broke out even if i use it as a base for my make-up foundation. i super love it! its a little pricey but its definitely worth the money!! u can buy it online or in any of the whole foods market in your area (http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/); yes, dr. hauschka's product is natural and oragnic! two thumbs-up!
as for my make-up, i use mineral fusion products. i didn't have any acne the first time i used it, and until now with weeks of using it. you can purchase it online (http://www.mineralfusioncosmetics.com/) or in any of the whole foods market in your area.
i will update u guys for more of my accutane experiences: effects, side effects, adverse effects and how i managed all of those!
thanks for your time reading and if u have any suggestions, comments or reactions, feel free to say it!
