Well I am here and trying to figure out if this regimen will work. I have had acne for over 20 years. I have tried prescriptions equal to everything but Isotrentinoin(Accutane). Isotrentinoin is now what every dermatologist is telling me to use since I have had such bad acne for so long and have also tried numerous things. I have tried Minocycline, Doxycycline, Spironolactone, OCs, Retin-A, Duac, Clindamycin, Differin, Sulfur mask, tea tree oil, OTCs such as Proactiv, Murad, Acne Free, Nutrogena, etc. Yeah if it says it fights Acne I have probably tried it. I am hesitant to try Accutane due to all of the side affects, and while it worked for my sister temporarily it is not something that I am ready to try yet, especially now that I see the lawyer advertisements for lawsuits.
So now having always researched using Acne.org I am trying the regimen. I do know that BP does work somewhat for me. I did an acne clinical study for adapalene/BP mixture (now called differin) a few years ago and that worked for me, but not completely clear (it was only 6 mos). In addition, I had to follow strict guidelines from cleanser to moisturizer during the study. My progression pictures were taken in all different colors and I did see improvement but could not say whether it was the adapalene, the BP or the methods used for all. I still wore the same makeup I wear today and still ate the same foods the only difference was how i did things for my morning and night cleansing routine.
My Study rules (kind of match the regimen instructions, just different products)
- No Exfoliation (scrubs)
- Used only specific Cetaphil Cleanser and Cetaphil Moisturizer along with the differen.
- No additional creams/wrinkle reducers, chemicals etc. Only my Mineral makeup was allowed.
Hence the reason to try the regimen. So time to see what happens, it cant do any worse than what I have already tried over the last 20 years.
