DAY 18

honestly, i've had absolutely no side effects from accutane except for the occasional lower back pain, which feels a lot like the back pain you get after doing a bunch of crunches, so its not even anything bad, and the obvious chapped lips and dry skin, and then all of a sudden out of nowhere i go to blow my nose and oh hello, blood! yeah. i got a nosebleed. it was kind of scary considering i haven't gotten a nosebleed since i was probably about 12, but i guess its because the accutane is drying out my nose. i just hope i dont get anymore because it would be really embarrassing if i was out with friends and then just suddenly started gushing blood. it wasnt that much, it just felt like a lot because i havent had a nosebleed in forever, but i guess ill be trying that thing where you put aquaphor in your nostrils. my mom freaked out over my nosebleed because she had no idea it was a side effect. ha welllll other than that..everythings all good.

hey! this is not in regards to your beach experience but i was reading your background info and it sounds alot like mine. ive had this on again off again relationship with acne and ive had some good and not so good experiences with an aesthetician. she had my skin clear for about 3-4 months until she dermaplaned my face then poured salycilic acid all over my face...immediately after that appointment i developed cystic acne! i start accutane tommorrow...or at least i think i do. my 31 day waiting period is over so i guess ill have my blood done, a pregnancy test and then get my prescription soon after. question: did you have to be on your period when they took your blood and pregnancy test? i hope im confused but i thought i heard that somehwere along the way.

i swear sometimes i think my dermatologist ruined my skin! but no i didn't have to be on my period when i took my tests, i told my derm i have a really irregular period. i think they have this thing where you take a pregnancy test 5 days after ur period if its normal, but since mine has been irregular it doesnt apply to me. i got my blood done the day i got my prescription written and i was supposed to get it that day but my doctor forgot to register me into the ipledge thing so i had to wait another 5 days. make sure you remind your doctor to put you into the system so you can answer the questions and stuff

ahhhh ok. idk where i got the idea that i had to be on my period?! this blood/pregnancy stuff is rediculous!!! the guys have it so lucky! in canada (and maybe the u.k.) they dont have to go thru ipledge program. i suppose its bc of the universal healthcare system but i don't see how that would allow them to bypass the program..it seems it would be just the opposite but o well. and yeahhh; my derm wasnt the one doing my peels; i actually hadnt been to the derm in years bc they were never able to help. the aesthetician i was seeing worked from her home. she cleared by face for a while and the faces of other people but i think the last peel she did totally changed the chemistry of my skin. i would do anything to go back in time and have the previous type of acne i had before these treatments.the final peel i ahd was the absolute worst pain i have ever had in my life...i cried for the next hour sfter she finished; we skin was like in shock! i hope accutane erases all the sign of acne past and present.

i feeel ya. i wish i hadn't taken my skin for granted when it was acne free. if accutane helps me i will NEVER take it for granted again. this has seriously been the biggest pain of my life. and i know, the whole ipledge thing and the fact that the uk and canadian people dont have to go through it is so unfair! if we didnt have to go through it i would have been on month 2 already..oh welllll. its also unfair that they have access to the actual roche accutane and we only get the generics. hope it works out for both of us!
