...Well, as all of you that have been reading my posts know, I've been dealing with a very severe and very SUDDEN "acne" breakout for the past month or so...turns out, I've been going about it all wrong.

So!, I went to the walk-in clinic yesterday. Thanks to Olive14! I started researching and looking up images for staph infections after reading her comment about the possibility of a staph infection. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Folliculitis (staph) looks identical to what I'm dealing with! I can't believe I never even considered this, being a skin care specialist and all. Ha! Maybe I should go back to school.

So, while at the clinic, I demanded that they test me for a staph infection. The doctor took me aside, listened to me vent about my symptoms, etc and said "Well, I think you might be on to something." ...I am now prescribed to Cephalexin (Keflex) and Sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim) to cure what seems to be Folliculitis (staph infection). I am also going to make an appointment with my gynecologist to get back on birth control or some sort of hormone regulator.

**Thank you all so much for your concerns. It truly means so much to me that you've even taken the time to read my posts. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in this.**

p.s. My acne.org products came in the mail today!! 260tnpt.gif

So, if it's NOT a staph infection, then at least I can clear up my breakout somehow!

+ supplements/medications:

2 fish oil vitamins, daily (which I've been taking for years)

500mg Keflex (4 times a day)

1 Bactrim w/breakfast

1 Bactrim w/dinner

1 Benadryl, because my face is so itchy and tender and I can't fall asleep at night.

"Without music, life would be a mistake." :|

I've used Keflex and it does inprove the skin quite a bit.
Yeah, the redness has reduced, slightly. But it's only day two. I hope to see some good results. :)
