Gerson therapy

I am a 25 year old female and I had acne for about half of my life. I have finally found relief through the Gerson therapy. A Doctor named Max Gerson discovered a cure for cancer and realized that it also cured a multitude of other diseases. The therapy works because it helps your toxic body detox and repair itself. This therapy consists of eating only organic fruit, vegetables, and grains. You also have to drink fresh juiced vegetables and fruits. For cancer patients, they have to drink the juice 13 times a day. There is no meat allowed on this diet. And you have to do coffee enemas to make your liver detox (gross, I know). Our bodies are toxic from the cumulative effects of pollutants, chemicals, and lack of nutrition. Acne is your body telling you that you are toxic. Your organs are unable to function properly, and that is why your body gets rid of the toxic stuff in the form of acne.

Of course, you don't have to do the extreme diet for the rest of your life to have good results. It is possible to pick and choose what works for you. You can only drink a couple of glasses of fresh juiced vegetables and fruit a day. The most important thing is to not eat anything that is toxic and unnatural while your body is healing.

A year ago, I was extremely ill from toxic mold that was found in the basement of my apartment building. My acne was worse than it had been in my entire life. I didn't want to go outside and constantly felt ashamed of my appearance. I saw an environmental medicine doctor to help with my illness and she said that I had an intestinal yeast overgrowth and that I was allergic to wheat, egg whites, peppers/tomatoes, soy, and 3 types of mold (which were found in the basement!). I followed her directions perfectly and completely changed my diet to eliminate all of those foods and sugar so the yeast would die off. After a few months of the candida diet, I felt a lot better. But my acne wasn't gone and I was disappointed and confused. After reading about the Gerson therapy, I decided that my organs were toxic and that my intestines were probably damaged from the yeast and food allergies.

So, I started a modified Gerson diet of fresh organic vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds, beans, legumes, and whole grains like millet and quinoa. I eat a little organic chicken each week and have 3 glasses of fresh juice a day. I only drink water and do not eat processed foods. After a month my acne was beginning to clear up. I was impatient and then I decided to try the coffee enema. I didn't like the idea of doing that, but if it helped, then it seemed worth it. After a week of daily coffee enemas, my skin cleared up completely and I felt so much better. I believe that the lingering problems that I had after the diet were due to a buildup of undigested food in my intestines. It may take a year or two for my intestines to fully heal. By that time, I shouldn't be allergic to anything.

This therapy is quite complicated and it can be overwhelming to start, but the results are undeniable. I have tried many topical acne treatments which only dried out my skin and made my face really red and irritated. I was on birth control for 5 years and this helped somewhat. It seemed like everything that I did for my acne either did nothing or made it worse. Now I don't use any chemicals and use a shower filter to remove chlorine. I just let the shower water run over my face and I let it air dry. I use a crystal instead of deodorant and don't use anything on my body except for Whole Foods 365 Brand unscented soap. I think that the combination of reducing exposure to toxins and giving your body the nutrition that it needs is really the only "cure" for acne.

I am curious if you have continued Gerson and if you still maintain good results. My daughter is doing Gerson now and her story is very similar to yours. It has been almost 4 weeks and we see some results with the acne, but certainly not "completely" as you experienced. Suggestions?
